This week in Hip Hop, the issues between Lord Jamar and Eminem continued to make waves. Also, 50 Cent announced there will be a spin-off to his hit show Power, and A$AP Ferg revealed how Kendrick Lamar stopped him from appearing on Rich The Kid’s “New Freezer.”
Eminem & Lord Jamar Drama Beefs Up
On Wednesday (August 28), Eminem seemingly responded to Lord Jamar’s frequent criticism in interviews with DJ Vlad and many others.
“People think they want this problem ’til they get it,” Em wrote.
Slim Shady’s longtime collaborator Royce Da 5’9 suggested Jamar should chill on the insults. But it seems as though the Brand Nubian MC doesn’t plan on taking heed to Nickel Nine’s suggestion.
“Every problem has a solution,” he tweeted on Thursday (August 29).

50 Cent Hypes “Power” Spin-Off
50 Cent wants everyone to stop saying the sixth season of STARZ’s hit show Power is its last.
“POWER BOOK II starts 48 hours after the finale, so stop saying this is the last season,” 50 wrote Friday (August 30) via Instagram. “THE PARTY IS NOT OVER.”
Mary J. Blige will reportedly be part of Power‘s spin-off.
While that’s good news, Power fans have been in an uproar over the show’s newly revamped theme “Big Rich Town” with Trey Songz replacing Joe. 50’s tired of people flaming him about it — and so is Trey.
However, Joe is happy about all the attention he’s been receiving from everyone who enjoys his version of “Big Rich Town” and made an Instagram post celebrating the love.
This week, 50 additionally voiced his frustrations over the lack of Emmy Award nominations his show has received. On social media, he invited the Emmys to kiss his “black ass in slow motion.”
50 also declared Chris Brown better than Michael Jackson and co-signed Joyner Lucas’ claims that Sha Money XL is shady.

Why A$AP Ferg Was Taken Off Rich The Kid’s “New Freezer”
A$AP Ferg chopped it up with DJ Whoo Kid this week and revealed how Kendrick Lamar would only turn in a verse for Rich The Kid’s “New Freezer” if K. Dot was the only feature.
“[Producer] Ben [Jayne] came through, and we did that song together with me, Rich The Kid and a few other niggas … MadeinTYO,” Ferg said. “This nigga wind up playing it for fucking, I think Jaden Smith, Kendrick Lamar, all these other niggas. And Kendrick was like, ‘Yo, I’ll get on it as long as everybody come off of it.'”
Ferg and MadeinTYO were on the original, which eventually leaked online.

#DXCLUSIVES: Little Brother, Murs & Lio Rush
Murs Unlocks Fatherhood’s Science & Explains How His Mother Saved His Life
In an exclusive interview with HipHopDX, Murs shared how moving from Los Angeles to the Valley saved his life.
“I believe my mom really saved my life, those three or four years where I wasn’t in the streets,” he said. “I was already saying ‘cuh’ to my mom at 9 years old. I was going to get jumped into a gang because we were all going to junior high and that’s just what you did. That summer of moving changed my life. But then going to the white kids, and they made fun of me, but elementary school’s not as bad. At least where I lived, it wasn’t as bad. Kids weren’t making fun of me yet. But when I got back to L.A. for high school, everyone made fun of me.”

Little Brother Explains Why They Kept “May The Lord Watch” A Secret
Little Brother’s May The Lord Watch has been a long time coming and speaking with DX, Rapper Big Pooh and Phonte discussed how they kept tight-lipped until it dropped.
“I’ve been chomping at the bit to get this album out,” Pooh revealed. “We started working on it back in October, and we held the secret tight until a couple months ago when we announced the Hopscotch Festival date. Even just being able to let people know we’re working on something was a big relief, finally. I was having to do a lot of sneaking around my friends. Finally just having the music out and people being able to hear the growth and where we are in 2019 — it feels good for it finally to be out.

WWE’s Lio Rush Explains Why He’s Turned To Hip Hop Amid Career Uncertainty
Speaking with DX, Lio Rush talked about beginning his rap career while coming from the world of WWE.
“There’s this stigma of doubt with professional wrestlers making a rap song,” Rush noted. “It’s always in the wrong direction as far as the content of the song. I just didn’t want to be associated with that.”

I’m black, I’m from Baltimore, I purposefully listen for certain 90’s era rappers on up to current top tier rappers for shock value in the hood, I swear on everything I love, I never heard anyone playing lord jamar ijs…he is right,,,, hiphop is a black artform but whites and maybe Hispanics played a vital part at its inception….if you say otherwise your either in denial or just admit you’re racist lol
I’m from Inglewood California. Extremely hood. 95% + of motherfuckers living here are black or Hispanic. They played that Logic Em Homicide shit so much out here I wanted to vomit. No Lord Jamar or Brand Nubian though.
You’re “extremely hood” so you are proud or bragging about being oppressed and stupid? sounds about right……… moron
Shut your dumbass up online tough guy
Yo Lord Jamar is straight up jealous I’m from East NY Brooklyn and I hear people bumping Eminem and logic track as well em shit with joyner Lucas so for him to speak for the all the hoods is dead wrong I don’t think em is the goat biggie is the goat in my eyes! But em is one of the best lyricists in the game who just happens to be white and Lord Jamar shit isn’t being bumped in my hood right now and I think he is just a hater and jealous kause he can’t do what em does and when it comes to brand Nubian he wasn’t the best in his own group it was grand pueba Sadat x and then Lord Jamar and that’s facts!!
Also talking about Eminem is the only thing that gets Lord Jamar name in articles. Nobody gave a shit about lord jamar started saying stuff so he just keeps saying it
I believe that people in the hood listen to Eminem.
But something about the names and comments for this article stinks of Eminem Reddit stans coming to defend their boy. King Streets Bklyn? Inglewood Family? Bmore Real? Are you all the same dude?
I pray to God I am wrong and mean no disrespect if I am ?
Relax fam, they’re just nick names for a hiphop site, I assure you, I’m not a eminem stand, lupe fiasco and nas are my favorites and I’m from Baltimore, hence the name lol…I just hate when people act like he didnt pay homage to the forefathers of rap or act like he’s trash, because lord jamar said so, that’s dumb
No you are 100% right. That is one person saying the same thing with diff names. Inglewood, Brooklyn and Baltimore huh? Just need a compton, Chicago etc lets name all of the “most hood” black communities in America lol. I saw thru that bs immediately. Dude is white and not from Brooklyn, LA or Baltimore. Which is fine- I dont know anyone that listens to Brand Nubian anymore then Eminem so the substance aint wrong but that shit was too obvious
EMINEM FELL THE FUCK OFF!!
This stupid white hip hop sites keep promote his name
I never understood why the hate on Eminem so hard. The dude can rap better or as good as anyone out there and all he has ever done was give OGs the respect they deserve. It’s just jealousy and racism at this point. He came up from being broke af in a garbage city, is a dope lyricist, and pays homage to the OGs. Let the old guy rap forever. Lol
Lots of hate out there.
People don’t hate EM cause he is WHITE….They hate him cause he’s OVER HYPED like ELVIS!!! White playing the victim card when Em is called out. His subject matter does not connect with CORE originators of the the CULTURE…” Just like me” was not made for black or Brown people….We do not wanna kill our Mothers and Baby mothers. Just face it….EM is not a GOAT !!
