Hip Hop Week In Review: Getaway Driver In Nipsey Hussle Case Confirms Shooter’s Motive

    This week in Hip Hop, the motive behind Nipsey Hussle‘s shooting was revealed by the woman who drove the getaway car for his alleged killer, Eric Holder. Also, YG’s artist Slim 400 was shot multiple times in his hometown of Compton. Lastly, DaBaby received his sentencing for his role in a shooting at a Charlotte Walmart in 2018.

    Motive In Nipsey Hussle Murder Revealed By Getaway Driver

    After Eric Holder allegedly shot Nipsey Hussle six times on March 31, he hopped in a car and was driven off by a getaway driver who confessed to police the fatal shooting occurred over snitching allegations.

    In documents obtained by TMZ, the woman says she overheard Holder ask Nip if he was a snitch. The late rapper responded by dismissing it then asking if Holder was a snitch.

    Following the interaction, Holder returned to where Nipsey was standing with a few acquaintances and fired shots at the West Coast rhymer. The Victory Lap creator was pronounced dead at 33.

    Holder is currently behind bars awaiting trial. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

    Slim 400 Undergoes Surgery After Shooting

    YG affiliate Slim 400 was reportedly shot multiple times Friday night (June 28) in Compton.

    Sources tell TMZ that Slim is currently conscious and YG was at his hospital bedside for most of the evening.

    DaBaby Sentenced In Fatal Shooting Case

    On Thursday (June 27), DaBaby faced a North Carolina judge over his involvement in a fatal shooting that occurred at a Walmart last November. He was sentenced to one year of unsupervised probation.

    19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig got into an altercation with DaBaby while the Charlotte-bred rapper was with his two children and their mother. DaBaby claims he was acting in self-defense.

    The rising star initially faced a charge for carrying a concealed gun in connection to the shooting. It was dropped in March.

    After Russell Simmons penned an op-ed about gun violence in America for Black Press USA, HipHopDX spoke to the mogul about his wishes for a community still mourning over the loss of Nipsey Hussle.

    “Some in the black community are suffering from a lack of self-love, a symptom of living in a white supremacist and unequal society,” Simmons told DX. “The war on drugs that endorsed and supported the prison industrial complex really watered any seeds of ignorance and violence.”

    Darryl “DMC” McDaniels On Run-DMC’s 35th Anniversary: “We Weren’t Trying To Be Revolutionary”

    DX spoke to Darryl “DMC” McDaniels for Run-DMC’s 35th anniversary and touched on the impact of their hit record “Walk This Way.”

    “When we were recording ‘Walk This Way,’ we weren’t trying to be revolutionary,” he explained. “We were just doing what we loved doing. You know, back then, you couldn’t call yourself a musician of any kind if you didn’t know your history. And for us, it wasn’t just us knowing our funk bands or our R&B crooners — although we certainly knew them — but, knowing our rock riffs, as well.”

    Tierra Whack Responds To FlyLo’s Album Request Over Flamin’ Hot Snacks

    In May, Flying Lotus revealed his desire to make an entire album with Tierra Whack. When DX asked Whack herself about FlyLo’s request, she seemed to be down.

I don’t think it was gang violence or anything of that nature it was the government the CIA they are the ones that do all the killings they are bounty hunters father president they killed and they set people up for murder just like to broadcast like biggie anybody that speaks for the African-American is going to be done with it you have to realize that United States is the first one to start taking in the slave is it suppressed they out here killing people and send other people up for the murders that man that do no wrong nobody just like Tupac or Biggie and they must have yet to be solved why because the CIA have cleanup people make a call to the other murders like JFK all those murders was bad mistake why did they never caught his this club anybody support the African-American community and talk about the white man will be there Point Blank. That’s the CIA is ran by the KKK That’s Why Us does a black African-American Community need to start vote every vote counts start voting and let your voice be heard
