J. Cole’s “4 Your Eyez Only” Album Is Upon Us

    J. Cole has released his much-anticipated 4 Your Eyez Only album. The project comes without little promotion, save for a 40-minute documentary that the North Carolina rapper’s fans flocked to as Cole shared some insight into what he’s been up to in the two years since dropping 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

4 Your Eyez Only is made up of 10 tracks and does not include the two previously released “False Prophets” or “Everybody Dies,” which were laden with subliminal disses. The tracklist shows no features, which would give Cole the opportunity to have back-to-back platinum albums with no features. 2014 Forest Hills Drive is now double platinum.

    J. Cole’s label, Dreamville, has shared the back cover revealing the tracklist for the North Carolina MC’s upcoming album, 4 Your Eyez Only.

The project, which is due out Friday (December 9), is made up of 10 songs and lists no features. Cole’s last effort, 2014 Forest Hills Drivewent double platinum with no features and was the first LP in 25 years to sell more than one million copies without a guest appearance.

The two tracks that were shared in J. Cole’s Eyez documentary, “Everybody Dies” and “False Prophets,” do not appear on the tracklist. “Everybody Dies” seemingly took aim at the new generation of rappers including Lil Yachty while “False Prophets” fired subliminal shots at what fans presumed was Kanye West, Drake or Wale.

Wale addressed the possible diss in a song called “Groundhog Day,” but the same day shared a clip of himself and Cole chillin’ courtside at a basketball game to clear the air.

So check out what tracks did make the 4 Your Eyez Only cover art and tracklist below and hang tight for the December 9 release date.

    1. For Whom the Bell Tolls
    2. Immortal
    3. Deja Vu
    4. Ville Mentality
    5. She’s Mine Pt. 1
    6. Change
    7. Neighbors
    8. Foldin Clothes
    9. She’s Mine Pt. 2
    10. 4 Your Eyez Only

(This article was first published December 1, 2016 and is as follows.)

Good news for J. Cole fans today, as it seems they’ll have a new album from the Dreamville boss to devour by December 9.

iTunes posted a pre-order for a new project, titled 4 Your Eyez Only, in its store. Details are scant, although the write-up describes the project as: “The rapper’s highly anticipated fourth studio album.” It appears to have 10 songs on it and the release date is listed as December 9, which would mark to the day the two-year anniversary of the release of J. Cole’s last studio album, “2014 Forest Hills Drive.”

Cole, an artist on Jay Z’s Roc Nation, has bordered on reclusive in 2016, even telling the audience at The Meadows Music & Arts Festival in October that he was talking a long hiatus from playing shows.

With the project on the calendar now, it’s inevitable that we’ll start seeing some singles and videos soon.

Will the album go platinum? WILL IT HAVE NO FEATURES? Only time will tell.

    Pre-order the album here.

    1. Who cares if it goes at platinum, as long as it’s good music. Need to stop basing everything on sales. Thus is the reason we have so much trash out now.

    2. Hey guys i’m just wondering if you guys could post more updates on Kanye seems very underreported…usually this story would be something updated and reported every single morning up to date he’s released, yet it’s not wonder why…. editors of this site are the same scum as the rest of mainstream media

    3. Am starting to enjoy these ‘surprise’ releases….no hype, no build up, no major expectations….just an early gift for hip hop. This will be the new way folks….hear about an album by a major artist a week before its release.

    4. A short album could be less disappointing than a long one, though so far the artists I like has yet put out a bad one this year hope he keeps the streak going.

    5. I rate cole and he spit that fire. But using a Z instead of a S is so fucking cringe and outdated man. Other than that, bless up!

    6. Happy e as a new album dropping,i want to hear Cole spitting and not Singing like the latter half of forest hill drive was.

    7. Who cares? This guy sucks and gets too much air play. The media only hypes up cole kdot and drake. Like these are the only rappers out there

    8. Over rated like a muthafucka. Fake deep, ass rapper. I can’t listen to his music in a car without falling asleep

      1. Yous a bitch ass motherfucker talking bout fake deep… nigga what Cole spits truth and knowledge you dumb pussy I hope your ass gets knocked before you fall asleep. fuck out the comments then bitch go back and bump to drake and lil uzi you washed up closed minded bitch

        1. Get on his ass GRIM!!!!!! J COLE better then any of these washed up ass hip hop artist that’s out. GTFOH YOUS A HOE ASS NIGGA with that bullshit ass logic…

      2. Well….Grim basically said everything that I wanted to but in a not so nice way. Honestly , Cole is one of the very FEW real rappers left. Please explain to me how J. Cole is a FAKE REAL RAPPER…jk don’t….if you feel that way congrats! You can go back to listening to the brain-washed music you probably listen to though. TO ALL THE COLE FAMILY THAT SEE HIS IGNORANT COMMENT…DISREGARD IT. Ur comment was just unnecessary but love to everyone….not Finna get super mad over BS

    9. My names “Rekkington” some of you might know me by my other PET names “put sum respeck on my name” or Azeliabanks WhiteBF .
Some people assume my life sucks because I’ve failed at every endeavor I’ve ever tried …. I may not have any REAL friends in my day to day life, and yes, I’m single and unemployed and in my 40s . But you know what I’m happy being me and I don’t care what any muthafucka thinks about me …

      1. No one cares about you or the different usernames you use old ass bi polar mofo . Your posts are always the same boring and attention seeking !!!!

        1. Said the same person complaining for good music to come back yet doesn’t support shit … What’s even worse is I bet you’re in a position to buy a album without it having a drastic impact on your bank account lol.

          1. I could buy Jordans all the time without it breaking my bank, but guess what. If I could get them for free why wouldn’t I? And don’t talk about good music when shit music is getting made by the day and NOBODY is buying those albums.

            1. You can get them fro free. Its called stealing like you do with Music but you probably to p*ssy for that. Only shows what kinda person you are.

      1. Album 10 dollars, you act like it’s 10 G’s. This food for thought cost the same as 2 number 3’s.. so at ease with that broke shit, we all tryna get a dollar boy so shit. – the autograph

    10. why in the fuck is that a good cover? I think is boring as fuck , just look at it for 10 seconds and you tired of it

        1. when the art is good and I mean constructed it should keep you looking for more than 10 seconds, maybe you are just an idiot and you don’t know about it

      1. thats because u could see me and j cole fucking ur mum on the cover. close ur eyes kid. shes crying on that BBC. and we getting bored of her shit, she cant even take it for 10 second.

      1. UR mums is boring in bed, u fucked up mother fucker. u must be white weirdo. fuck u bitch u dont know shit go fuck ur mum shit cause u aint shit.

      2. m just going to assume you’re trollin. Either that or you are kayne west biggest fan and you’re mad

    11. I’m just going to assume you’re trollin. Either that or you are kayne west biggest fan and you’re mad

    12. To everbody talking down on j cole yall obviously dont know what real music is about , J cole is on another level when it comes to rapping all that other shit and now all these new rappers. That isnt music , now a days it seems like everybodys listening to it for the beats because the shit they talk about either dont mean a damn thing or dont make any sense at all.The he people who really listen and vibe to coles music understand the shit hes saying and one way or another every song hes dropped has meant something or had feeling to it.Thats what music is about were suppose to be taken away by how lyrical this man is and how much pain love thought he puts into his work . Cole Is Amazing And Lyrically Talented His Shit Comes From The Heart And Thats Why I Love Him !! IF YOU CANT SEE THE TIME DEDICATION AND PERSONA THIS MAN HAS USED THEN YOU DONT KNOW MUSIC OR TRUE TALENT.

      1. Agree with you about how music now mostly sucks and all that about cole but calm down man, people have various opinions. Just coz someone doesn’t Like cole doesn’t mean he doesn’t know music. Though i agree with your wider point.

    13. Hope y’all can be honest…it’s not like that. The two songs not on there are the best ones. Women gonna fuck with it tho, and since they the ones who actually buy shit, he’s gon win regardless…

    14. Just finished it for the second time over.. good soulful shit to vibe to.. but I liked the 2 singles not featured on the album more. . I was hoping for a few more tracks to be a little more aggressive. Worth the listen.. Cole is a talented dude.. I think I just expected more after the early released tracks

        1. that’s right you tell em my nigga, i wrote 3 of Aubrey’s hits I know a banger when I see one.. Cole ain’t got any !

    15. It’s ok on the 1st listen. I have to go through it one more time. I def think the two singles he released before the album should’ve been on here smh

      1. Just a question. Why do people say a single should be on an album these days when most of this shit is streaming? I’m just wondering what’s the difference. If you want those other songs with it, play them with it. Singles don’t promote albums anymore as most of the times the so called singles come out a few days before the album.

    16. This whole album straight up trash…how he gonna come out firing like he’s the best on False Prophets and then release this trash?….GARBAGE….More Life Coming Soon!

    17. Cole did it his way. No real melodic or hard hitting singles that will get spins in the club or radio. Deja VU is the closest thing to a single. He spills his truth over instrumental production. Love how he channeled 2Pac on Change. Love how Everybody Dies and False Prophets stirred up a buzz but left them off the album so as to stay to the theme of his album. Not a classic like 2014 was but a very solid effort. 4.2/5.

    18. The headline should read….. “J. Cole drops another snooze fest album to put everyone to sleep” I don’t get what the hype over him is about. He has got to be the most boring rapper in the business right now. I mean I literally want to go to sleep when I hear him. This album garbage juice just like his last one. But someone is gonna buy it so whatever. And no I don’t like drake. No I don’t like Kendrick either.

      1. You mean cause his lyrics are real, instead of “hype”? I get it though, “nobody wanna hear lyrics with a heart beat, they just wanna hear it on a hard beat” you just one of them huh?

      2. I compare all the hype and hate to two things. 1. Too much trash rap out there so anything that sounds mellow or has a nice vibe is a break from the new norm. 2. Not enough quality rap making it out to the masses, which makes us put Cole up there in the top 5 of today’s artists. Yes, your favorite underground artist is nice, but he isn’t mainstream to the point that everyone is anticipating the album. Cole, Kendrick, KRIT, and a couple others do it a little different and we appreciate it. Meanwhile 99% of the other artists are just making club hits or something that catches on real quick.

      3. The problem I always had is getting my mind out of the 80s and 90s. I go into every 2000s album expecting a the next Illmatic, Paid In Full, Criminal Minded, 36 Chambers, Ready To Die, De La Soul Is Dead, Low End Theory, Dah Shinin, Melodica, Reasonable Doubt, Breaking Atoms, Hard To Earn, Between A Rock and A Hard Place, Bizarre Ride, The Sun Rises In The Eastt, Live and Let Die, The Chronic, Doggystyle, Enta Da Stage, Kollage, The Most Beautifullest, Strictly Business, Nobody Does It Better, Like It Should Be……The list goes on and on but my fingers are worn out. Coming from the 90s, nothing today holds a candle to the past. You just have to compare it to other shit being released today and just accept it forr being better lyrically. I’d say what needs more improvement today are good producers. The producers for Kendrick, Cole and Drake make beats that are bland as fuck. So I have yet to fall in love with their albums after one or 2 listens.

        1. I don’t get why people like that Criminal Minded album by KRS One or why people even like him a single an artist. You talk about boring and you mean to tell me he doesn’t put you to sleep?! That album was stupid

    19. I hear this cole album is kinda boring and ab-souls is supposed to be good but the only albums im waiting on and would drop money on are The Lox – Filthy America and Conway – GOAT (Grimiest Of All Time)

    20. Turns out that his first verse on false prophets may have actually been about himself. Line about half assed project applies to this, line about not look himself in the mirror applies here because he looks ridiculous now. The line about the dude being his hero but falling from grace also applies because I feel his work has been getting worse. Only part that doesn’t apply (probably but who knows) is the ghostwriter one. If you talk shit about someone else’s album, please bring your A game when the time comes to drop yours. Not a terrible album but not great, somewhere between ok and good.

      1. Hi, put sum respeck, AKA Azeliabanks WhiteBF ,AKA Djf . Attention seeking again are we . You poor thing I feel sorry for you . It must suck being you, in your 40’s single and friendless wasting your life away on HHDX . Here you go weirdo have this imaginary hug from me . I’ve got things to do so will try and pop back next week to read your reply .

    21. Good album. Cole gets it because he gets that soul music is the root of this rap shit. Every artist that comes up and eventually forgets that falls off once they venture past that. Nerdo pop fans won’t dig it because they want ringtone beats, but that’s why hip hop is so fucked up now these days to begin with. Half these dudes songs don’t even have a foundation to them let alone lyrics past the vapid hook they’re repeating.

    22. Dude said it would be his second featureless platinum album but wale is featured on immortal and I’m sure that’s not the only track with a feature. Technically George W Bush was featured on No Role Models. Lol
