Kanye West took to Twitter on Thursday (September 27) with an air of humility. While reconfirming the release date for Yandhiwas Saturday (September 29), Kanye conceded Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated album Tha Carter V will outsell his follow-up to ye. 

“We’re releasing Yandhi Saturday night,” Kanye tweeted. “We know it will come in number 2 to my brother Lil Wayne and that’s lovely. The universe needs Ye and Wayne music at the same time.”

Billboards for Tha C5 have started popping up in New York City as the magical hour inches closer. On Tuesday (September 25), Wayne shared a video explaining Tha C5 would drop on his 36th birthday (September 27).

The project’s release will put an end to a long, drawn out chapter with Cash Money. Wayne was finally released from his contract earlier this year.
