Since emerging from the sunken place this summer, Kanye West has shared public praise and admiration for numerous controversial individuals.
The latest is A$AP Bari, a close friend who Yeezy explained via Twitter on September 26 he unjustly distanced himself from following sexual assault allegations, which cost Bari — among other things — a deal with Nike.
“I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with XXX … that was some pussy shit on my part,” he explained, noting that as a friend, Bari challenged him creatively.
“I let the perception and the robots control me …that’s the true sunken place. I appreciate your perspective and vision,” he says, adding that true “Jedis” shouldn’t allow perception in what he describes as “cancel culture” get between them.
Bari challenged me when no one else did and when he got in trouble I was scared to say he was my friend just like I did with xxx and that was some pussy shit on my part. I let the perception and the robots control me. That’s the true sunken place.

“There’s no way I would have the number 1 record in the world without this man here,” ‘Ye said, tweeting posting a photo of himself FaceTime chatting with Bari.
“He broke me out of my pretentious rich nigga shell.”
Though he remained a member of A$AP Mob, many in the industry appeared to distance themselves from the VLONE co-founder following the controversy. Bari has since launched a countersuit against his accuser.
Much to the chagrin of some core fans, ‘Ye has also been working with rapper Tekashi69, who himself is no stranger to sexual controversy.
