Kanye West has paid tribute to Anna Wintour after the longtime Vogue editor stepped down from the publication.

Though Vogue ended their professional relationship with West in 2022 following his various antisemitic outbursts, the controversial rapper still appears to have love for the influential magazine editor who is quitting her role after 37 years.

West posted a picture of himself with Wintour at a fashion show on X and wrote: “Thank you Anna for your support and friendship for so many years [goat emoji].”

Back in 2022, Wintour’s Vogue put out a statement saying that the publication had no future plans to work with West just months after the longtime editor had been seen sporting Yeezy sunglasses.

Wintour had also previously worked to broker a peace between West and an influential editor at Vogue, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson.

Karefa-Johnson had blasted West for his use of the “white lives matter” slogan on his clothes, accusing him of “pure violence”.

Wintour then put together a meeting between the two with West then posting on social media about the sit down.

He wrote: “GAB IS MY SISTER IM NOT LETTING PEOPLE GO TO BED THINKING I DIDN’T MEET WITH GABRIELLE AT 5 PM TODAY FOR 2 HOURS THEN WE WENT TO DINNER AT FERDIE.”

West continued: “IT FELT LIKE SHE WAS BEING USED LIKE TREVOR NOAH AND OTHER BLACK PEOPLE TO SPEAK ON MY EXPRESSION.

“WE APOLOGIZED TO EACH OTHER FOR THE WAY WE MADE EACH OTHER FEEL WE ACTUALLY GOT ALONG AND HAVE BOTH EXPERIENCED THE FIGHT FOR ACCEPTANCE IN A WORLD THAT’S NOT OUR OWN.”

Vogue would also put out a statement in support of Karefa-Johnson saying:“Vogue stands with Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, our global fashion editor at large,” read the statement. “She was personally targeted and bullied. It is unacceptable. Now more than ever, voices like hers are needed and in a private meeting with Ye today she once again spoke her truth in a way she felt best, on her terms.”
