This year’s version of Las Vegas’ Rebelpalooza will be one that fans will surely not forget. With an amazing lineup, no one could stop this show… except Mother Nature.

It was a dark and stormy night as Reggae group Bonafide tried to convince Mother Nature that the outdoor show should go on. As they warmed the growing crowd with renditions of reggae smashes, the crowd rocked and applauded the high energy that the group provided. For now, Mother Nature sat subdued and left the crowd dry. Next up was Las Vegas’ own branch of the Rocksteady B-boys who kept the crowd live and ready with their outstanding routine.

As the evening dawned and a storm appeared eminent, Las Vegas’ own The Chapter stepped to the stage. Verbal E and live band put the crowd in a craze with joints off of their debut album Us Vs Them (due out May 24th) and convinced Mother Nature that the storm that she was considering should be held off for at least a few more hours due to a live show that set the bar extremely high for the rest of the evening.

Mother Nature got restless as rock group, El Pus delivered a high energy stage show (complete with a hard edged version of “Billie Jean”) that stirred up a few deserving mosh pits. A wind picked up and rain began to fall on the swelling crowds heads, but as soon as Talib Kweli hit the stage Mother Nature gave in and cleared the evening for him to level the crowd with his lyrical gymnastics and house rocking performance. As Kweli put it down with fan favorites “Move Something”, “Get By” and “Never Been In Love, the stage was set for hip-hop’s wild duo.

Method Man and Redman followed an already outstanding show with nothing but high energy that damn near brought the sun out. As the fans swelled into an inaudible roar, the rambunctious duo closed out the evening giving the fans a night they will never forget. Delivering classic hits like “How High”, “I’ll Be Dat”, “PLO Style” and slaying the crowd with “Rockwilder”, the duo kept a crowd that waited more than four hours wanting more. This proves that nothing, not even a restless Mother Nature, can stop real hip-hop.
