Foxy Brown isn’t just taking the rumors of her getting thrown out of the Manhattan studio where she’s working on her new album to heart, she’s taking them to court. Foxy Brown and Manhattan Chung King Studio owner John King are allegedly in a dispute over his claim that she was ejected from the studio for unpaid bills to the studio.
According to the NY Daily News, unreleased tracks from her album The Fever was leaked from the studio before the album hit the streets and now she believes tracks have been bootlegged from her new album Black Roses.
Foxy has her lawyer looking into a possible defamation of character and music piracy lawsuit. “Because there’s pending litigation, there’s not much I can say…I’m an artists whose material was stolen, and my concern, more than anything, is not a one-on-one with John King or the studio. My concern is no other artist has to go through with this again. It kills your creativity and your workmanship”. As for the rumors that Foxy owes money to the studio she says, “Artists are never able to leave the studio with their master recordings without the studio being fully compensated. Let’s just say that I’ve retained all of my masters”.
