Kanye West has revealed who his current “favorite rapper” is — and his answer may surprise most people.
In yet another controversial posting spree on social media over the weekend, the rap legend named Dave Blunts as his favorite artist in Hip Hop right now — although given his propensity for trolling, it’s possible he was not being entirely truthful.

“Dave Blunts is my favorite rapper. His raps give me the energy of my tweets,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Ye also showed love to Playboi Carti, adding: “Carti my favorite musician.”

In a follow-up post, the G.O.O.D. Music founder shared a screenshot of a text message with Blunts, who is dangerously overweight, in which he offered to help him improve his health.
“Bout to listen. Do you mind if I connect you and my trainer. We need you to stay alive,” West wrote to the up-and-coming rapper.

Blunts replied: “Let’s do it. Thank you Ye.”
The up-and-coming rapper also reacted to the praise on social media, sharing a snippet of an unreleased song on which he raps: “Ye said I’m the chosen one / Ye told me to talk to his personal trainer ’cause he wanna see me alive.”
Blunts also shared another screenshot from their text exchange which shows Ye telling him: “You my favorite rapper and writer. You free.”

Dave Blunts is a rapper from Davenport, Iowa who has risen to viral fame in recent months for his morbid obesity and TikTok hit “The Cup,” which glorifies codeine addiction.
The 23-year-old has also made headlines by performing on stage with the aid of an oxygen tank and has suffered severe health problems including heart failure.

Blunts previously got into a back and forth with Snoop Dogg after the rap legend mocked his weight.
In response to a viral video of Blunts performing “The Cup” while sat down on a chair, Snoop wrote on Instagram: “Well put down the chicken wings and tata chips Nefew and that chair gone break soon get to the end of cup [crying face emojis].”
Blunts later hit back at Tha Doggfather during Juice WRLD Day in Chicago, saying to the crowd: “Aye, Chicago, do y’all have a problem with me sitting down on this stage? Exactly! So get the fuck off my dick, Snoop Dogg.”
He also snapped: “I see the big dog talking. Snoop, you think you funny? You don’t know what it’s like to fight for your life every damn day.”

Snoop appeared to find the rant hilarious, replying with a video of himself watching the performance and laughing while saying: “That was funny. Go ahead, lil homie — I mean big homie. Do yo thang, cuz, I ain’t fucking with you. Have your fun.
“I apologized to this n-gga and he’s still going off on me, cuz. I must be getting old.”
In recent weeks, Blunts has vowed to lose weight in the run up to his new album and upcoming tour.
