Kanye West has weighed in on the age-old debate over who (if anybody) could beat him in a Verzuz battle — and his answer is the most Kanye answer ever.
The Chicago rap icon made a surprise appearance at Deon Cole’s comedy show at Hollywood Improv on Tuesday (April 7), where he hung out on stage and loosely interacted with Cole and fellow comedian Ocean Glapion throughout the night.
When asked if by Glapion if there is any artist out there that he views as a worthy Verzuz oopponent, Ye shook his head and replied: “Nobody” before flashing his signature smirk.
Backing up his argument, Yeezy then pointed out that despite running through dozens of hits during his recent sold-out shows at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium, there were still several huge songs that he didn’t perform including “Gold Digger” and “Touch the Sky.”
While on stage, Ye also briefly spoke about the upcoming deluxe edition of Bully, revealing it is still in the process of being finished.
He also (jokingly) agreed to let Deon Cole record an interlude for the project, à la DeRay Davis’ (who also popped up at Cole’s show) comedic skits on The College Dropout and Late Registration.
The prospect of Kanye West participating in a Verzuz battle has fueled fan debates for years, with fellow heavyweights such as Drake, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent and Future floated as potential opponents.
Swizz Beatz revealed in 2021 that Ye was actually “ready” to face off against Drizzy in the popular soundclash series that he co-founded with Timbaland, but it never materialized due to their ongoing feud at the time.
However, many believe that the only catalog that could stand toe-to-toe with Yeezy’s belongs to his former mentor, labelmate and collaborator JAY-Z.
During a recent episode of his eponymous podcast, Joe Budden and his co-hosts debated who would win between the Watch the Throne duo, with all of them agreeing that it would make for a tantalizing showdown.
Antwan “Ish” Marby ultimately backed Yeezy to take the W, saying: “I still think Hov is the greatest rapper ever, but when you getting up there with 20 bangers, hits… yes, Kanye can get him out of there.”
Brian “B.Dot” Miller, however, was adamant that Hov would edge it, saying: “If we’re talking about lead songs, I don’t think that JAY-Z loses to Kanye West.”
“I don’t either,” Budden concurred.

If we talking hits, DMX could (Up In here). Andre 3000 with Big Boi, heck even Missy Eliot

Lil Wayne,Jay Z, J Cole, Eminem, DMX, Busta Rhymes, Kendrick Lamar,Drake, hell even Future could wash him nowadays.
No one can. Some people try to say Jay Z he can’t sell Yankee stadium his songs don’t transcend.
Be you transcend you fairy. Who do you listen to? Lil Uzi,Lil Yatchy,Lil Baby. All those rappers are gay AF.
Jay Z has way more hits than Kanye ever will. And unlike Kanye , they were in the past 15 years
Forgetting that YE was responsible for many of those hits..
Personally would want a Lil Wayne X Ye album. Maybe Wayne and Ye Verzuz and YoungBoy says the same no one can take him
We need a new Def Jam game they should use the Verzuz name
Nas
I’d rather ride shotgun with Tiger Woods than listen to any music Kanye has released in the past dozen years
Here is the thing…if you work with or support Kanye then their career is secretly over. Being tied to Kanye in any capacity is bad for business!
All bs aside he is one of the best at his craft forget all the media mess.
He would. Anyone saying Jay-Z lives in boomer warped world and doesn’t realize Jay-Z hasn’t been relevant in decades and can’t sell an arena his music sucks too he was never a good rapper and highly overrated.
Kanye has released nothing but dog shit music for well over a decade now. And Kanye will be 50 years old soon, so I’m not sure why you think Jay’s music is for “boomers” but Kanye’s isn’t . They’re both old
Ye needs to be President
Gay
Kids in China singing Ye in school and in thr clubs all of Asia none of these other rappers do that.
All of Asia and the world were singing HH all these people wanted Ye beats. Look these internet people Bhad Bhabie and these streamers using Ye samples and beats.
Based on pure raw talent Ye would put skid marks on most of these people in the industry. Some of the people arguing here are not musically motivated. Sales are impt, but when it comes to Versus, and just sheer talent, sales don’t mean anything. I mean look at talentless Taylor Swift. Man her music does shit for people but she has an industry machine behind her.
I’m trying to make justice for Ye’s talent, and remove the distractions that people tend to discuss.
New album on the way with Travis. Hopefully Vultures 2 gets a rework and Vultures 3 can finally release.
Ye is him! The country of Israel is trying to dunk on him on social media. Funny they never do this to Ari Emmanuel’s clients Hasan Piker or Dave Chappelle? The song Israel predicted this the UK ban.
I agree, he may be a trip but his catalog just too deep for anyone to touch him. Plus he blends genres and generations very easily.
Europe will fall now France wants to ban him. Muslims need to stand against these zionists
Vultures 3 releasing and Donda 2 and Vultures 2 rerelease may be on the way
None of these losers can touch Ye he better than pop artists too only one close is Michael Jackson. Ya’ll need reality check Tupac was fake and music was trash it’s clear Dre stole beats from Eazy-E’s team and Jay-Z has no talent he was installed by Warren Buffet.
Verzuz Lil Wayne vs Ye make it happen
Ye better!
Now release the shirts orded still aint been delivered or my SL-02 and 03’s been over a year!
