2 Chainz is set to continue his prolific start to 2025 by releasing a joint album with Statik Selektah this year.
The Atlanta rapper only just dropped Life Is Beautiful with Larry June and The Alchemist, but is showing no signs of slowing down now that he’s an independent artist.

In an Instagram post this past weekend, Statik confirmed that the pair’s full-length collaboration will arrive before the year is out and that it will feature appearances from Lil Wayne, Westside Gunn, Mary J. Blige, Cee-Lo Green and Larry June, among others.
That’s just the start of the star-studded supporting cast, with the veteran producer adding that the album will have “way more features.”
2 Chainz and Statik Selektah’s somewhat unlikely relationship dates back nearly a decade to 2016’s “Smoke Break.”
Since then, they’ve reconnected on tracks like “Man of the Hour,” which also featured Wiz Khalifa, and “Play Around” with Conway The Machine, Killer Mike and Allan Kingdom.

Speaking to Hot 97 in 2023, Statik discussed his long-awaited project with Tity Boi and compared it to JAY-Z’s Reasonable Doubt.
“Our album is [done]. It’s in my phone right here,” he said. “We brought it to heights that are like ridiculous. This is his Reasonable Doubt. I just can’t wait for people to hear it. It’s coming.”
A title or release date for the album have yet to be revealed.
While Statik Selektah has been a beacon of independent Hip Hop for well over a decade now, 2 Chainz only recently followed suit after departing his longtime label home of Def Jam.

I wanna make a huge announcement. Starting last week, I am now an independent artist,” the Drench God said in a video posted on social media last year.
“That’s right, I’m not re-signing with Def Jam. So think of it like KD or like LeBron — the biggest free agent in the game.”
