2 Chainz began his Rap career as Tity Boi and half of the duo Playaz Circle. After his partner Dolla Boy was incarcerated, he opted to go solo and bought his way out of his contract with Ludacris' DTP imprint. Shortly after going solo he switched to the new name 2 Chainz. After releasing some successful mixtapes, he was signed to Def Jam Records in 2012 where he began a successful recording career.
