Lil Wayne was living a roller coaster life a few weeks ago. There was speculation that he would leave his family over at Cash Money and opt for even more exposure and dollars at Def Jam. But that speculation was grinded to a halt when Weezy chose to stay home with his Cash Money brethren. Now the budding rapper is planning his future.
“Lil Wayne is part of the heart and soul of the Cash Money family and always will be,” stated Label President and co-founder Ronald ‘Slim’ Williams. “He has grown up with Cash Money and we’ve watched him mature as an artist and now as an entrepreneur, with his new Young Money Label.”
Cash Money co-founder Brian ‘Baby’ Williams adds on to what his brother says, “Lil Wayne eats, sleeps, breathes hip-hop just like we do, and this deal locks down an even greater future together.”
Now with his future in check, Wayne is already plotting to follow up his critically acclaimed gold-plus album The Carter with The Carter II. The album is slated for later this year. In the meantime, Wayne will keep himself busy with his Young Money Label and a slew of side projects.
