The first big show, amongst the many throughout the evening, was hosted by newcomer Dynji Clothing Co. The event, titled “Ashy to Classy”, featured a fashion show, b-boys, Deejays, and performances from the likes of Little Brother, The Chapter, Project Move, Deux Process and LiveSoul.
At the glamorous Prana Lounge at the Aladdin, the venue was filled with curious patrons. Amongst those in attendance included Karl Kani, Teddy Ted, Special K and representatives from Mixwell clothing, Knucklehead Zoo and others. With the Dynji models in full effect the evening was a hectic one but one that many won’t forget. From Las Vegas newcomers such as Okayplayer contest winners The Chapter (who tore the venue down with their band and show) Boston’s Project Move, LA’s Deux Process, and the other Vegas act LiveSoul to the energetic fashion show, the night was in full swing.
Little Brother hit the stage with a vengeance. With Phonte a little under the weather, the duo of himself and Rapper Big Pooh brought a show like none other. For those not familiar with Little Brother, this North Carolina trio of MCs Rapper Big Pooh and Phonte and producer wunderkind 9th Wonder (produced tracks for the likes of Destiny’s Child, Jay-Z and working on material with the likes of Mary J Blige) have been pegged as the next to blow by industry insiders everywhere. With XXL tabbing their sophomore album as the 8th most anticipated album of the year, behind only the likes of 50 Cent, Game, Kanye and the like, they came to show and prove with their live show. Both emcees tore the house down with choice selections from their projects. With a stage show that can be compared to some of the best in the business, this evening was one that Dynji Clothing and all the lucky audience members will cherish for a while.
