N.O.R.E. has extended an official invitation to have Cardi B appear on a future episode of his Drink Champs podcast after the two had “a great conversation.”
The C-N-N rapper turned media personality made the invitation via a tweet on Friday (December 30), even hinting at some of the topics they might discuss. Despite having historically mostly kept the Drink Champs platform for more seasoned artists, N.O.R.E explained that his recent convo with Cardi led him to see her in a new light.
“I had a great conversation wit @iamcardib the other day,” he tweeted, “and I wanna say I respect her!!! Would love to officially invite her to drinkchamps to talk chop cheese , newports and all other greatness !!!”
At press time, Cardi B had not publicly responded to N.O.R.E.’s tweet.
Beyond N.O.R.E.’s topic suggestions, Cardi B would have plenty to discuss after a year that has seen her achieve the career milestone of selling over 100 million units, help welcome Beyonce to TikTok, join GloRilla on one of the best collaborations of the year, win two lawsuits, and avoid jail time, all since the summer.
Also likely to be a topic is Cardi B’s long awaited sophomore album, which she said would arrive this past summer. Earlier this month, the Bronx bombshell had a heart-to-heart with her fans on Instagram Live, where she explained that a myriad of factors have contributed to the album’s delay, including her lack of confidence in the quality of the music she’s recorded, fear of criticism and having separation anxiety over being away from her two children.
“I’m just a mom and I do have anxiety. I’ve been having a lot of anxiety, because I know right after I drop my album, I have to go out on tour and I have bad separation anxiety from my kids,” she admitted.
Days later, Cardi B previewed some new tunes for her “starving” fans while addressing alleged leaks that have emerged online.
While he awaits a response to his latest guest request, N.O.R.E. also confirmed that Keith Murray is set to make an appearance on Drink Champs after re-entering the online conversation this week thanks to revelations about a past intimate relationship with Foxy Brown.
The interview has apparently been scheduled to be the podcast’s first episode of the new year, with the show’s host tweeting, “Yes we getting Keith Murry [sic] on drinkchamps in Jan when we come off the break!!!”
In an recent interview with The Art of Dialogue, Murray shed some light on a personal relationship with Foxy dating back a number of years.
According to the Lyrical Lexicon, the two often ran into each other in New York and he never wasted an opportunity to try to take their friendship to another level. Years later, he said, things got a little hot between him and Foxy after a Def Squad performance at the House of Blues in Los Angeles.
In 1995, Foxy Brown and Keith Murray joined forces on LL COOL J’s “I Shot Ya” remix, which also features Fat Joe and Prodigy of Mobb Deep. The song appears on LL’s Mr. Smith album which peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and No. 20 on the Billboard 200.
She has not commented on their alleged relationship.
It’s always funny to see New Yorkers show how shallow they are when they support the same stuff they criticized the South about ruining rap on as long as the people are from their region. As long as they’re from their region and don’t get on with another one like Nicki Minaj did (and even with her, they still co-signed her until she showed a lot of them her ass to kiss), they will co-sign that shit. Cardi is no better than the rest of these stripper rappers. Same way they used to criticie the West Coast for gangsta rap until they got their own version of it popping from Biggie and others.
Yep. Trap music, west coast gang banging, club bangers with simple lyrics… NY has always hated then copied the style like they invented it. They haven’t been original in 20 years.
IN THE WORDS OF STYLES P “FIRST OFF NOBODY OWE YOU A FUCKIN INTERVIEW NIGGA” LMFAO
ALL THESE DICK SUCKIN PODCASTERS ARE CORNY AND WHY THE FUCK WE NEED SOO MANY SMH👎👎👎👎
