The month of February has been a busy month for Hip Hop releases. Yo Gotti, 2 Chainz and more opened the month with their respective albums, and the trend continued this week with Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa, Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj, Gunna and more dropping heat.
The new music wave spread elsewhere too, when West Coast Hip Hop legend Snoop Dogg unleashed his 19th studio album Bacc On Death Row and the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige dropped her 14th album Good Morning Gorgeous.
Snoop and Blige will be taking the stage alongside Dr. Dre, Eminem and Kendrick Lamar at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show on Sunday (February 13). With a big event like the Super Bowl right around the corner, fans wonder what the performers have in store like surprise releases.
Fans have been keeping a close eye on Kendrick Lamar, who’s been steadily stirring the pot with news regarding his forthcoming final album with Top Dawg Entertainment. According to a report from Billboard, rumors were swirling K. Dot would drop a single sometime in February.

Ebro Darden strengthened those claims during a recent episode of Rap Life Review on Apple Music when he read a note from his producer saying Kendrick’s single would be dropping on Friday (February 11).
“What I’m reading here provided by our producer Sasha… the way this reads, it sounds like it’s confirmed that we will get a single from Kendrick Lamar before his performance,” Ebro said on the show. He went on to read the note, “with the release of his single to be debuted ahead of the performance.”
Of course, people on social media ate that news up and believed something was coming despite never getting confirmation from Kendrick Lamar or TDE. Fans were instantly disappointed to find out there was no new single from Kung Fu Kenny once the clock hit midnight, and they rushed to social media to vent their frustrations.
“Why did I get my hopes up and think Kendrick Lamar was actually going to drop an album or single tonight,” one person wrote while another account tweeted, “Kendrick Lamar didn’t drop shit, the internet really convinced me this time I don’t know why I listened, I never do but I did today and fuck it I’m done.”
