While most people were occupied watching the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight, Azealia Banks fans had no problem dedicating their Saturday (August 26) evening to support their favorite Hip Hop artist.
TheBroke With Expensive Tasterapper took the stage at the sold out Fonda Theater in Hollywood, California, performing all her hits, including “212,” “The Big Big Beat” and “Esta Noche.” During her one-hour set, Azealia revealed that by this time next year, she would be dropping a jazz album.
After the show, HipHopDX caught up with Banks, who was determined to keep the focus on her music.
When asked about the upcoming jazz project, she explained, “There’s a lot of jazz influence on a lot of my music. Even on ‘212: A-yo.’ A lot of people didn’t even know that was me singing. I’ve heard it a lot.”

Just the other day on Twitter, Banks mentioned a rock album in the works too. That seems less of certainty though.
“I don’t know what I’m doing,” she clarified. “I might do both.”
What won’t be happening is a previously announced collaboration with former rival Iggy Azalea. A few weeks ago, Banks revealed their plans had been derailed by Def Jam’s decision to not release more singles for Iggy’s Digital Distortion album.
