According to the Los Angeles Times, Lydia Harris is the benefactor of $107 million that will be paid out by Death Row head honcho, Marion “Suge” Knight. Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Ronald Sohigan awarded the money to Harris, who filed the suit back in 2002 claiming that Suge owed her millions in royalties and unpaid profits.

Many may not know that Lydia Harris is the spouse of the incarcerated Michael Harris, who is believed by many to have signed a partnership deal during the label’s incarnation. Michael Harris was incarcerated on attempted-murder and drug-trafficking convictions while the label became a staple in the West Coast rap music scene. The suit states that the husband and wife combo financially assisted Knight in launching the label but Lydia, who at the time was vice president, was pushed out of the picture as the label took off.

The suit also alleges that Knight pressured Michael into signing a settlement with Interscope worth a meager $300,000 and relinquish any legal claim to the label. Knight denied all allegations and even went as far as to claim that he never met Lydia in his life. But according to the Times, the Judge’s ruling had nothing to do with the evidence brought forth, it was actually finished after Knight and his attorneys violated court mandates requiring that they answer questions and provide documentation to the opposing counsel during the discovery process.
