The mash-up is becoming highly popular amongst both hip-hop and rock fans. By combing hip-hop lyrics with rock backdrops the mash-up was born. The genre came full circle when Jay-Z hooked up with Linkin Park to create the chart topping Collision Course. Could there be a sequel in store?
Sum 41 recently linked up with Ludacris to rock the set of Saturday Night Live and the results were astounding. Now with both entities continuing their respective rise to the top, there may be a chance that they can help each other get there.
In an interview with MTV, Sum 41 drummer Steve Jocz spoke of future plans of the band, which may include another hook up with Ludacris for a full length mash up album. He did admit that “discussions” were underway between both artist’s mangements, but did not divulge any details that he may or may not know.
“I don’t know anything else,” he told MTV. “I’m a little low on the totem pole to be involved in any discussions.”
