The Destiny’s Child alum’s fourth solo offering features an appearance by Outkast’s Andre 3000, along with production from Kanye West and his production team – including Jeff Bhasker, as well as a writing credit to former G.O.O.D. Music artist Consequence.

Royce Da 5’9 and Eminem continued their reign as Bad Meets Evil with Hell: The Sequel, climbing from No. 9 to 5 with an additional 35,000 copies. As of now, the Motor City natives are gradually approaching gold status with an overall tally at 311,000 units sold.

G.O.O.D. Music’s latest artist, Detroit, Michigan’s Big Sean, drops from No. 3 to 9 in his second week on the charts. The Def Jam Records-backed emcee sold over 85,000 first-week units on his solo debut, pushing another 27,000 copies this week. Finally Famous: The Album was largely produced by longtime Common mentor No I.D., and featured appearances from DXnext alumni Chiddy Bang and Wiz Khalifa, along with Lupe Fiasco.

    2. I think cuz it wasnt clearly announced Kendricks Section80 wasnt gonna be a mixtape that hurt… coupled with the fact that he’s fairly new being that his claim to fame so to speak Overly Dedicated just dropped at the end of last year. he’s gonna have get his name out there. i thought he was more well known.. but wow wtf the people of Compton aint even coppin his shit? im like wats the deal.

      1. he would have sold a lot more copies if there was a physical copy released in stores, i dont want to pay money to itunes for some fucking computer files

    3. hey assholes, how are you going to put Smiff-N-Wessun and Pete Rock’s album as the highlight for the story and not even fucking mention the album at all in the article or how well it did? fuck you hiphopdx

      1. Horowitz must have been thrown out of Hebrew School (for being too dumb) AND public school because this dude is straight retarded.

Does this website have ANY goddamn shame?!

    4. Curren$y takes a drop from No. 22 to 82 in his second week, but that’s not slowing the flow. Weekend at Burnie’s sells another 59,000 copies, bringing the overall tally to 28,000….

either u have a complex math system we dont know about or U NEED TO START PROOF READING THESE ARTICLES!!!!

      1. unless they changed it since they first put it up, it says 5,900. The point about not slowing the flow and dropping from 22 to 82 is still bad reporting…

      1. She is HipHop R&B. HipHop is not limited to just rap.

But it’s all gone to hell anyway. It’s all pop music now.

    5. Curren$y takes a drop from No. 22 to 82 in his second week, but that’s not slowing the flow. Weekend at Burnie’s sells another 59,000 copies, bringing the overall tally to 28,000.

    6. MAN WTF?! You gonna Smif n Wessun album cover for the “Hip hop album sales” article and there is no mention of it whatsoever? That makes A LOT of sense DX, wow. I wanna know how that album is doing by the way, did it ever chart?

      1. @ uk

        hiphop is:
        1. Bboying
        2. MCing
        3. Graffiti
        4. DJing
        5. Knowledge, Culture and Overstanding

Now choke on sum fish and chips, dear.

    7. Hip-Hop DX is turning into Yahoo! by the way these articles are written. I wish I could get paid to write these articles. I damn well know I can write better than this.

    8. they should have kendrick lamar section 1,000,000 copies in the last week people listen to lame music now a days

    9. correction kendrick lamar section 80 should have sold at least 1,000,000 copies last week it’s .better than most of the crap today.people listen garbage music ugghhhh!!!!

    10. Beyonce’s sells are going down 1 million copies each album. The first one 4X platinum. The second one 3X platinum. The third 2x platinum. This particular album will go platinum but overtime. It wont be a multi platinum effort thats for sure. That first single was the worst song of her life. Plus, it’s not going down like this because of the times and technology. They are going down because of the quality of her music. Not just for her but everyone. The only people who are still doing it is Jay-z, Kanye West, Lupe (sort of) Eminem(sort of)and a handful of other artist and they are all shells of their former selves. What the fuck is going on? Did somebody just turn on a switch on everyone and made them to be wacker then they use to be? Damn

      1. i think u are right with the first single mess but beyonce`s im sasha fierce has sold 3 million copies altough the certification is not 3x platinum yet . her sales are pretty stable. this album will be a hard one but she can do it! she can come with a good single that can finally sell the album .

    11. i didint think that bad meets evil would sell this much unit. props to royce and eminem for their work

      1. he sold 1700 copies on the first week. well at least we know 1700 homos got love with hip hop now

    12. all I know is Section80 has been bumping since I downloaded it. Weekend at Burnies is dope and Tech has quite an album.

    13. Congrats to Bad Meets Evil & Tech N9ne, nice to see some of my favorite artists from High School still doin big things now

Kendrick Doin pretty decent for a mixtape

The rest I could care less about

    14. eminem is garbage dude is illuminati i know cuz i made him take the oath before slim shady lp dropped i was there so was jay he had to sign tha contract permitting us to take down alliyahs plane,oh yeah puffy was there too told that nigga our plans for biggie on that back to cali trip

    15. I WANT TO SUCK LIL B’S DICK,IM NOT GAY BUT I GOT MAD RESPECT FOR THE DUDE AND HIS SHIT I HAVE BEEN FEELING FOR A WHILE NOW I WANT HIM TO FEEL MY SHIT WHEN HE STICKS HIS COCK IN MY ASS.BLESSED BE THE BASEGOD FOR U ARE THE ONE THAT I WILL ONLY LET TASTE MY ANUS EXPERINCUS

    16. OMG I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!!! @LIL B I WANNA SUCK YOUR BIG BLACK HAIRY CURVED AN SKANKY DICK UNTIL YOU BLAST YOUR WARM SLIMY CUM ALL OVER MY URKEL LOOKING ASS FACE

    17. of course beyonce is gonna be at the top she is a fucking POP ARTIST . THAT GETS PLAYED 100 TIMES A DAY ON TV AND RADIO .
it doesnt mean she makes good music .
all she does is shake her ass in every video .

    18. 102,000 is good for tech n9ne. Finally some people actually want to listen real hip hop. If people were not stupid and thought for themselves it would be near 500,000 or around 300,000 at least like Eminem’s ep not even an album with royce which is good but not better then all 6’s and 7’s album. Beyonce is not hip hop.
