Chiddy of the DXnext duo Chiddy Bang made history on Thursday when he set two Guinness World Records for rapping. The Drexel University alum emcee rapped for over nine hours, setting a new record in two different categories.
Clocking in at nine hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds, Chiddy set the Guinness World Record for both Longest Marathon Rap and Longest Freestyle Rap. The previous record holder for the later category was Wu-Tang affiliate M-Eighty, who set the bar in 2009 with 9 hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds.
“It’s crazy – shouts to team swelly, shouts to MTV,” said Chiddy, who released The Preview on EMI Records last fall. “Thanks to all the people who showed support all day online. Without the fans I couldn’t have done this. I used to read the Guinness book when I was a little kid in school. Now I’m in it. Chase dreams first.”
MTV documented the world record breaking rap for the O Music Awards. The video can be seen below.
Thats nothing, I once listened to a Gucci Mane track for 17 seconds! Try doing that without dying!
Haha, or at least mentally scarred for life.
LMAO!!
Mad props. I wonder if Supernatural is ever gonna take the title back.
so he pretty much talked shit for 9 hours while sometimes rhyming words together? damn, the ambitions of people today are wild.
doubt you could do that. stop hatin
I could do that easily start hating
word man, i agree. this shit was nothing but nursery rhyming and maybe 2 good punchlines
Charles Hamilton would have beaten this record no problem and made it more exciting. this guy was reading off his phone in between shit, start rhyming elementary shit too
A) You try to rap for 9 hours and tell me if you don’t start running out of material.
B) What the fuck, there’s still Hamilton dickriders? Wtf has he done lately except run from crazy house to crazy house? The fuck outta here.
good shit. id like to see the haters rap that long and do a better job.
I wonder how he started his freestyle. Mad props for him, Wu-Tang forever, but that was some whack ass freestyle: lame wordplay, lame flow, lame rhymes, lame beat… anyway…
that was talent
