Chance The Rapper To Headline Power 106’s “Powerhouse”

Fresh on the heels of his Coloring Book mixtape, Chance The Rapper is set to headline Power 106’s “Powerhouse,” the Los Angeles radio station has announced.

“Powerhouse” is scheduled to be held June 3 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Other acts on the bill include YG, DJ Mustard, Big Sean, Joey Bada$$, Too $hort, Fat Joe and Remy Ma and Yo Gotti.

Chance has performed on various television programs lately, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he premiered “Blessings.”

Chance The Rapper Says He Still Gets Starstruck Around Kanye West

In additional Chance The Rapper news, the Chicagoan took to Twitter today (May 18) to detail his relationship with Kanye West.

He says that his personal connection with Yeezy began in 2004 when he would listen to College Dropout.

“It’s crazy cause I feel like I met Kanye the first time I heard We Don’t Care,” he writes in a series of tweets, referring to a cut from West’s LP. “Like he’s been there for me since 2004. Kanye was there when I tried out for the talent show, the first time I knew a kid who passed away, the first time I got suspended.”

The two have now developed a working relationship as Chance advised West in adding “Waves” to The Life of Pablo and West appears on the opening track of Coloring Book.

“But still, every time I talk to him it feels foreign,” Chance continues. “I still get nervous and starstruck. I’m still surprised when he likes my ideas. Part of what makes this duality work is because he is by definition “One of A Kind”. Therefore I’ve always known him and will never know him. I’m content with that.”

After the release of Coloring Book, West declared his admiration for his mentee, calling him one of his “favorite people.”
