Monica Says She’s Linking With Kim Kardashian To Free Her Ex C-Murder From Prison

Kim Kardashian and C-Murder were trending Twitter topics on Sunday (August 16) after the Keeping Up With Kardashians star vowed to help spring Master P’s brother Corey “C-Murder” Miller from prison. Miller has been behind bars for the better part of the last decade after he was convicted of killing 16-year-old Steve Thomas outside of a Louisiana nightclub in 2002.

Renewed interest in the case hit a fever pitch in the wake of BET’s No Limit Chronicles, which aired last week. Shortly after Kardashian’s tweet, Miller’s ex-girlfriend Monica headed to social media and said she was linking with the reality television queen to push the “Free C-Murder” initiative further, insisting he’s innocent.

“@cmurder & I are bonded by truth, honesty & Loyalty!” she wrote in the caption. “There’s never been a promise broken & I vowed to seek help! After a tearful conversation with @lala she and I spoke to @kimkardashian & I explained why I KNEW Corey was innocent… I shared that There are lots of issues in Corey’s case that speak to his innocence including witnesses recanting their testimony, dna not matching & a 10-2 jury!”

The celebrated R&B singer added, “Corey deserves to come home to his girls and be the father they need, be the artist & leader he’s always been as well as spread hope to those who have also experienced this. I’ve locked arms with @kimkardashian, @jessicajackson, @edyhaney and all those who believe in Corey and are ready to fight to #FreeCoreyMiller #FreeCoreyMiller #FreeCoreyMiller.”

In subsequent posts, Monica pleaded with his fans to join the fight and shared a few throwback photos of their time together.

Miller’s case has been marred by inconsistencies. Not one but two witnesses recanted their stories and Miller’s DNA not matching the DNA found at the scene has raised questions.

Also, as Kardashian pointed out in her tweet, “The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted. Since his trial, witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict.”

Even so, Judge Steven Enright of 24th Judicial District Court denied Miller’s request for another retrial in January 2019, explaining the two witnesses who recanted their stories weren’t credible.

Despite Barker’s best efforts, Enright wrote the recantations of previous testimony “are highly suspicious” and except in rare circumstances “a new trial should not be granted on the basis of a recantation because it is tantamount to perjury so as to discredit the witness at a later trial.”

    1. I think prison is modern day slavery, and should be abolished, but this dude is on video shooting at people in the office of a night club. If you have that much influence, why use it here? There are tons of innocent young black men who deserve this much more than this selfish ass dude

      1. You just contradicted yourself. So this animal is a danger to society, but jail is bad? Where the fuck do we out these psychopaths? Are you volunteering to watch them for free so they don’t kill again? Idiot. Modern day slavery is a mental struggle. You’re only chained down by your thoughts.

        1. LMFAO this guy literally contradicted himself in the first sentence. He did make a good point though, there are plenty of African American men that don’t deserve to be in jail – they should be focused on freeing them. Not this clown that, very visibly, murdered a child.

        2. You’re an idiot dude. Read up on systemic racism and mass incarceration of black men and you might learn how young innocent kids are traumatized by the system, have their opportunities stolen from them, and are left with very few options. Jail is necessary, for about 10% of the people that are locked up, and even those could have been deterred if we would stop holding black people down. All I’m saying is why all this attention for a celebrity who is on video shooting up an office full of people. Stupid

        3. That’s two things going on, dummy. We have prisons and crime and they’re necessary, but not for tons of innocent young black men. Slavery should be abolished

    2. A dude with the nickname “C Murder” sure does sound like a little angelic victim. I’m sure he didnt do nuffin.

    3. Let’s come to a hip hop site and throw black people under the bus – whites that visit this site

    4. Well if they trying to free C murder, which I don’t think he shot that kid, they also need to free Mac. Which in Mac case all the evidence says he didn’t do it and then got a confession from the one that did!

    5. He’s a convicted murderer. His name is MURDER. Let him free? For what? So he can engage in street behavior and glorify guns and drug dealing in his music? Lmao
