Atlanta’s period of grief after the Falcons lost the Super Bowl to the New England Patriots should be short-lived as hometown heroes Migos take the top spot on Billboard’s 200 albums chart with Culture. Kehlani also lands high on the charts with her debut album. With these projects nabbing the top spots, The Weeknd gets his lowest position yet with Starboy.
Rain Drop. Drop Top. Migos’ Album Took The Top Spot.
Migos did it. They have the number one album in the country. Culture lands at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart with 131,193 equivalent album units. The project was streamed 115.6 million times, which made up 77,000 of the total units, a whopping 59 percent. Of course, the album was bolstered by the #1 song in the country, “Bad and Boujee,” as well as the singles “T-shirt” and “Call Casting.” The Atlanta group’s last album, 2015’s Yung Rich Nation, peaked at #17 on the chart
Kehlani Makes Waves With Debut Album
Kehlani’s SweetSexySavage makes its debut at #3 on the chart with 58,010 equivalent album units and 35 million streams. The album rides the success of her singles “CRZY” and the Suicide Squad cut “Gangsta.” Kehlani’s mixtape, 2015’s You Should be Here, reached the #36 spot on the chart and nabbed the Bay Area singer a Grammy nomination.
The Weeknd Slides Down To #4
The Weeknd’s Starboy has its lowest position yet, and even then it remains in the Top 5 at #4. This sales cycle, it saw a 10 percent drop as it pushed 50,572 equivalent album units and was streamed 48.7 million times.

The state of “hip hop culture” is truly amazing. Talk about the dumbing down of society. You are all clowns.
Migos deserve this the Migos always goes in they don’t mumble so give the Migos props for this
But Migos DOES mumble bro…their music is dumbing down the audience. literally.
^this niqqa dont know wtf he talking bout, migos been numba 1 since day one and they gonna be on of the greats foreva god damn
Looks like Drizzaveli spawned another success story in the Migos. If he hadn’t done the “Versace” remix, then they wouldn’t have all the mainstream attention they’re getting right now. So yes, congrats on the #1 album, but don’t forget who really put them on. #DrakeIsLoveDrakeIsLife #MoreLifeOTW
I’ve said it before, in as much as I love Kendrick lamar and j.cole, Isiah rashad, fabulous, absoul and the rest of the hiphop heads(matter of facts I’m a diehard j.cole fan), I still listen to some trap music e.g young thug, Lil uzi vert, migos even Kevin gates and I find myself bumping my head and dabbing kos dere just simple rhymes, dope banging beats and just bouncing to it(except Soulja boys musik that’s trash). Just bekause a track isn’t 64 bars and all that, doesn’t mean it doesn’t sound good to the ears. Niggas don’t understand that this ain’t 96 and 97 anymore… This ain’t no East coast West coast thingy anymore, theres social media, rnb Niggas klaimin dey fruits, Philly niggaz in pink dreads now… Everybody soft as teddy bears mehhn, even the ones tryna act tough e.g. The game. Just hold yo favorite rappers tight and leave the rest. Every body winning homies… Real hiphop, trap, Drake, everybody just leave em where they at…. Gosh I thought Amerikans were smarter than this… Lol
