Kehlani Checks Lana Del Rey For Posting ‘Dangerous’ Video Of Protestors

Although Kehlani was named in Lana Del Rey’s Instagram rant about double standards in the music industry last month, the Oakland singer never confronted Del Rey about it. But now, Kehlani has some words for the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter.

On Sunday (May 31), Del Rey shared a video of protestors in Los Angeles, seemingly unaware many of them have been getting doxxed and threatened by white supremacists and far-right groups.

Kehalni hopped on Twitter and politely — yet firmly — ordered Del Rey to take the video down, writing, “please remove your instagram post it’s dangerous as fuck and a very poor choice of moments to post. by all means protest, but DO NOT endanger people with your very massive platform. oh and turn your fuckin comments on man.”

She added, “it’s not about her don’t make it about her it’s about furthering endangering the lives of black people. it’s about responsibility.”

Del Rey ultimately removed the video from her Instagram account, which boasts over 16.5 million followers, but reposted an edited version of it shortly after.

The clip shows a black man with his fist in the air and holding a sign that reads, “No Justice, No Peace.” It then pans to a police car that’s been torched and littered with graffiti.

Kehlani responded again via Twitter after the new version of the video was posted, writing, “I was told the post was deleted and that was my point so i deleted the tweet but i guess it’s not deleted it’s just reposted ? leaving it up on my story but hopefully if she gets enough dm’s she will take it completely down.”

So far, that clearly hasn’t worked.

Since the police killing of 46-year-old black man George Floyd, riots and protests have erupted across the United States. One of the officers involved in the incident, Derek Chauvin, was arrested and charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter last week. All four officers have been fired, although the other three remain free.

However, that could possibly change soon. JAY-Z called Minnesota governor Tim Walz over the weekend and revealed Walz has agreed to hand the Floyd case over to Attorney General Keith Ellison.

    1. Oh please with this no snitching bullshit. These people are literally out here destroying entire cities and attacking innocent people and ruining livlihoods of small business owners. And kehlani the gangbanger groupie thinks people should not post videos of them doing this awful shit so as to protect them. Absolute nonsense and shows just how ass backwards you idiots are.

      1. This ridiculous ‘no snitching’ shit is one of the reasons why minorities have a poor relationship with the cops. They are hypocritical morons who love to play the victim. Earth to black people, it’s not all everyone else’s fault.

    2. She should keep that post up. It shows what’s really going on. Kehlani knows this but it paints the narrative in a negative light. Lana Del Ray is showing the truth of what’s going on. No commentary needed. When people show you who they are, believe it.

    3. Lol its bc it doesnt show white ppl rioting so they can blame everything on white ppl. I see hundreds of vids of blacks starting riots n fires..somehow whites r being blamed again

    4. Why isnt this biatch going somewhere to fake a suicide to promote her album? Lana is beyond her level. All hooes acting like they are activist and sht

    5. Lana Del Rey keeps trying to be down with this group of losers called BLM. Stop pandering, idiot. They don’t really want whiteys help.

    6. Moronic criminals caught on camera doing dumb shit? Nah, we wouldn’t want that… These people have lost it. Stick to singing because all of your single-digit IQs are showing.

          1. I like how you say that like I should know and pull my glasses out, but that’s not what I asked. No one can answer a question. I get examples. Is it because people don’t agree 100% with the narrative. If so; who says they are all white? Maybe they are also black, maybe Hispanic, possibly Asian. Everything just seems to be the white peoples fault. By your logic no other race would disagree with the riots and the looting.
