Joey Bada$$’s “All-Amerikkkan Bada$$” Album Sales Projections Are In

Politically-motivated MC Joey Bada$$ released his highly anticipated album, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$, last Friday (April 7) and luckily didn’t have to compete against Kendrick Lamar’s forthcoming album, DAMN., which is scheduled to arrive this Friday (April 14). Although early predictions of SPS (Sales Plus Streaming) numbers indicate the project will do about 31,000-34,000 total and place him at #9 on the Billboard 200, sales alone are predicted to hit 24,000-27,000, putting him in the third slot behind The Chainsmokers and Pentatonix albums, according to projections made by Hits Daily Double.

Projects from Future, Post Malone, Migos, Khalid, and The Weeknd follow behind the Brooklyn native in SPS predictions, while Tech N9ne, Bruno Mars, and Drake trail him in the sales category. According to a recent Instagram post, the 22-year-old artist was just as anxious to get his hands on one as his fans.

Joey’s last studio album, 2015’s B4.DA.$$, debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and sold 54,000 copies in its first week. Revisit his “Land Of The Free” video and Instagram post above, and stream All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ here.

      1. Dude album is Good. Just no trap music or dance, sing a longs on it. Like a J.Cole album you gotta listen to what he saying.

      1. Dayum, I was expecting a little more too. Especially since K.dot pushed his album back a week. It’s a good album too. I thought his fans would support him more. Don’t get mad when this dude give up and start mumble rapping. #GottaEat

        1. Why are you 2 imbeciles comparing him to Mainstream rappers? Joey is not backed up by a MAJOR LABEL. He is Independent. There is no crazy marketing budget. Ya’ll some stupid fucks

          1. He is selling more than most of these “signed” artists, so I really don’t understand these responses. It’s really simple math, he make $8-$10 bucks off every album, whereas your favorite rapper might make $1, and has to share the money at every tour stop with the label while he keep all of his, and he touring around the world.

            1. Chris- I like Joey, he is one of my fav rappers out right now, and I love the album…

But, there is no way he is making $8-10 an album. First off, he’s on a label he doesnt own. Doesnt matter if its a major or indie label, it isnt HIS label.

The album costs $12 on itunes, $9.50 on amazon.. shit even the cd is on sale for $8 at amazon.

Even if we use the high price of itunes at $12, Apple keeps what, 30%? Thats $8.40 going to the LABEL. Again, not directly to Joey since he doesnt own Cinematic. And, thats before costs- gotta pay producers, engineers, studio time, other recording costs, marketing costs (yes they are spending money on marketing- Joey is now getting regular play on Hot 97), etc.

Does he get a better cut than a major label artist? More than likely. But I doubt he gets more than $3-4 per sale, if that. Now hopefully, being that he isnt on a major, that he doesnt have a 360 deal. Touring and merch sales is where he stands to make a good deal of money.

          2. Well you pos, if you don’t know, his previous album did a lot more and I was wondering why this one only did half that amount when it’s twice as good and he’s twice as big now.

    1. K Dot let him live. I would loved to have seen a head to head release for Damn. Vs More Life. Like 50 vs Kanye.

    2. That’s whats up. This is great for an independent Artist. Keep doing your thing Joey. You are on your way to Greatness

      1. Really not understanding some of the “He Flopped” responses……, duke is an independent artist with a single that went GOLD(off this album), he’s outselling most “signed” artists and about to sell over 100k independently(again). I don’t think they know how amazing that is, or how great of an accomplishment that is when you don’t have the label buying records to up your sales projections.
It’s all good, I mean, props to the dude, eventually people might learn the process, if they care at all. Personally, I wouldn’t care if he sold 10records, I would be one of those customers cuz the kid is dope, period.

    3. Not betta than Makaveli… All Eyez On Me… Me Against The World…Thug Life… Strictly 4 My N.i.g.g.a.z…2pacalyse Now. Hell, it ain’t even betta than This Is An E.P release by Digital Underground or sold more than any of em. Sorry Joey…you got a long wayz to go B4 you can even THINK about claimin bein betta than Tupac an people ain’t makin movies about ur life any time soon…reality bites !!!

      1. Your statment is pointless lol because he didn’t get as much acclaim as tupac reality bites foh you typical negative people are the ones floppin in life. Drake is good but be real his albums aren’t only bought becausr of his messages he has a crazy fandom backing him credit to drake but you guys are fake

    4. Dope song. Never heard a track from him but I like his message…bout time someone with the audience uses it to say something different

      1. Check his last album if you haven the yet, maddd bars on that one. My favorite is “Christ conscious”. Go a video for you to watch too.

        1. Im sorry bro im a fan of Joey but hes not indie hes signed to cinematic media group whos owned by sony, he major just like the rest.

    5. Why does DX have to mention Kendrick’s album? Give it a break. People don’t buy multiple albums anymore? Why not just support both artists? The album is solid.

    6. This is how FLOP artist promote their music before it drops . Make a diss record , Claim their music is REAL Hiphop and last is to say something stupid like I’m better than Pac . None works Remy Flopped , The LOX Flopped and Joey Bum A$$ FLOPPED . #FloppedArtistPromoIsDead

      1. Diss record? Who did he diss?
& Joey does make real hip hop. Some of the more genuine shit out there. The man had a cause that was important to him and he stuck to it throughout an entire project. How isn’t that real by any stretch of the imagination? And he said he is LYRICALLY better than Pac. It’s not that radical of a statement. Pac was great but he was never the premiere lyricist.

        Stop being edgy & 13.

    7. I respect joey. but all you young bulls keeping saying ‘he indie, he indi’e. He signed to a label. his sales solide…stop making excuses though.

      1. chance is indie…lol troy ave is indie. Regardless of the opinion of the quality of their music. Those are true indie artist. If a label supports you…you are not indie..im not hating. just trying to put in perspective the achievement of a ‘true’ indie artist.

      2. you little children dont understand how the Industry works. Everybody has a fucking label, including Tech 9 the number 1 Independent artist. His Label is Strange Music and they are Indie. Its different when the distributor a.k.a the Major Label funds your touring, studio time, producers, TV ads, Radio slots etc and then PROMOTES you with their MAJOR $$$. Its like all of you are stuck on stupid haha

        1. I hear you. Tech 9 under that category of indie artist. but he co-founder the label..so i still view him as a pure indie artist..how does one qualify a ‘major’? when i say indie artist. i mean pure indie artist. if you co-founder/co-label, same thing to me. but if you don’t..if you are sign to a label, who funds aspects of your career. you aren’t a pure indie artist. doesn’t deduct from artistic talent. I’m east coast. so I support joey by default..im just saying

    8. New York artist that come out and claim to be real hiphop always flop . Remy ma The LOX and now Joey . Just come out don’t claim your real hiphop .

    9. I’m starting to agree that new york Hiphop doesn’t sell. desiigner 15k the LOX flopped Remy Flopped and now Joey flopped . New York has fallen to an all time low .

      1. Jadakiss outsold Ross in the same year with Top 5 D.O.A. NY rap sells when its not surrounded by the stigma of “Look at this! This is NY Rap, REAL RAP” that NY does to itself.

    10. Soon as he threw the plastic on the ground showing the “real cover”, he lost half his fanbase. True story.
