Tyler, The Creator’s New Album Is Expected To Debut Atop The Billboard 200

Tyler, The Creator‘s new album, Don’t Tap the Glass, is currently projected to debut atop the Billboard 200.

According to early projections, the surprise album, which was only released on Monday (July 21), is currently on course to sell 215,000 equivalent units in its first week on sale.

That would be enough for Tyler to dethrone Travis Scott’s Jackboys 2 compilation album which was released last week.

However, that number would be a fairly steep decrease from Chromakopia, which Tyler released last year.

That widely acclaimed album debuted to 299,000 equivalent units for the biggest sales week of Tyler’s career with it also reaching number one on the Billboard 200.

Tyler has also called on fans to just try and enjoy the album rather than rushing to have an opinion.

Speaking on X, the “Yonkers” rapper said: “Yall gotta stop doing this. everyone tho. it hasnt been 10 hours, just let it be what it is. a fun short upbeat urgent braggadocious album to a diary post about abortion and hair and aging and whatever else i was crying about lol.”

Tyler added: “please just let it rock if you rock with it and if you dont then move the damn on lol.”

Clocking in at just 10 tracks and 28 minutes, it’s the shortest album of Tyler’s career and only features uncredited guest appearances from Pharrell Williams and Baby Keem.

Missing from the album was “Get Right” featuring Doechii, which was launched at Louis Vuitton’s Paris fashion show earlier this summer.

Despite not making Don’t Tap the Glass, Tyler has been effusive in his praise of the TDE rapper.

The Odd Future founder described his reaction to first coming across her music: “I came across Doechii on something that YouTube recommended. It was the ‘Catfish’ record or ‘Nissan Altima.’ I was like, ‘What is this? Damn, this girl pretty as hell.’ And I clicked it and I was blown away and I just kept going and kept going and kept going.”

Don’t Tap the Glass is Tyler’s second album in a year and comes as he is still touring his widely acclaimed LP Chromakopia, which was released last October.
