Boosie Badazz is often willing to speak his mind on all sorts of topics, but he doesn’t want to publicly say anything about Tory Lanez allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion. In a livestreaming interview with The Shade Room, the outspoken rapper refused to offer his take on the situation despite being prodded for an answer.
“I don’t wanna get in that ’cause I don’t wanna say the wrong thing,” he said. “I don’t wanna say the wrong thing because I fuck with Tory and I fuck with Meg. I need me a Meg verse now. I’m not finna say shit!”
One of the interviewers, Buzy Baker, mentioned how women have largely been vocal about the incident while many men in the industry have been noticeably silent. Boosie responded by explaining why he declined to comment.
“I don’t wanna be the first to talk about it,” he said. “I don’t wanna talk about it because I’ma be in the wedge. They gon’ take this and they gon’ flip it on me. And they gonna make it look like a took a side. So like my mama say, I need to shut up on this one.”

Although Boosie was concerned about how his opinion would be perceived, his unwillingness to answer didn’t prevent him from facing criticism. Some social media users gave him credit for keeping his mouth shut, but others were outraged by the silence in juxtaposition to his past rants about topics such as Dwyane Wade’s transgender daughter.
Boosie’s attempt to avoid controversy or pick a side was in stark to his longtime collaborator Bun B’s approach. The UGK legend pulled no punches when addressing what went down between Megan and Lanez via Instagram.
“Tory Lanez did some whore shit, period,” Bun said in a video. “Yeah, I know Tory, I know his manager and all them, fuck all that though. Fuck all that. If the man on drugs, get him some goddamn rehab. If the man got mental health issues, get him some therapy. But you not gon’ sit here and shoot this girl and we not gon’ say nothing.”
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating Lanez for a shooting that left Megan injured in July. After weeks of reports and speculation, she confirmed the Canadian rapper/singer was the triggerman on August 20.
