JoJo Confirms Removal Of Tory Lanez From Upcoming Deluxe Album Over Megan Thee Stallion Shooting

The fallout from Megan Thee Stallion naming Tory Lanez as her shooter is starting to affect the Canadian collaborations — on the R&B side of things.

On Thursday (August 20), hours after Megan’s revelation on Instagram Live, singer JoJo confirmed with fans as well as Billboard that Tory would be removed from her upcoming re-release of Good To Know on August 28. The two collaborated on the song, “Comeback.”

“Def took him TF off,” JoJo tweeted in response to a fan’s speculation regarding her and Tory’s much-loved collaboration.

JoJo continued to profuse love and light to Megan following the reveal, even indulging a fan’s suggestion of the “WAP” rapper replacing Tory on the deluxe edition of “Comeback” instead.

“LOVE RESPECT AND PEACE AND PROTECTION TO @theestallion,” JoJo wrote.

The move follows Kehlani‘s decision to scrub Tory from the upcoming deluxe edition of It Was Good Until It Wasn’t.

“full transparency cuz i believe in that with my following, his verse is still on the song, the video is solo. new verse on the deluxe,” Kehlani told fans on July 29.

The Los Angeles District Attorney is pondering whether or not to charge Tory with felony assault for his role in the July 12 incident which left Megan hospitalized.

Chance The Rapper Comes To Megan Thee Stallion's Defense After Tory Lanez Incident

The decision by both R&B singers to remove Tory from singles is a stark contrast to how Megan’s male peers in Hip Hop have handled the controversy. Pundits such as Chalamange Tha God have disparaged the Chixtape artist but few male rappers have come to Megan’s defense.

Chance The Rapper tweeted support for the Houston rapper on Saturday (August 25), hoping she get proper retribution following the whole ordeal.

“I hope Meg really gets justice for what Tory did to her,” Chance wrote. “And that we can all learn from this, how near and constant and serious, the threat of lethal violence and abuse is for every Black woman.”

        1. A decent mans daughter would never be a hoodrat piece of shit like that heffer. Nor would she be hanging out with jerkoffs like tory lanez. Try again captain save a hoe.

          1. Whoa, relax Mr always angry cause he can’t get a hoe, it’s not a females fault if she fucks with jerkoffs and not sorry losers like you LMAO

    1. Jojo really needs the air my nigga tory is bringing to her dead ass career…. talking about love and light…. bitch you wasnt a 100 miles near the incident…. fvck you

    2. I hate cancel culture but this might be the one of the justified cases. I really fucked with Tory and his music but to shoot a female is just insane. This JoJo shit is small time compared to the other business hits he’s going to take. He really fucked up. Really was looking at him as one of the most underrated rappers too.

    3. Yes, I knew this nigga was gonna fuck up any time now. Tory has always been lame to me and never sparked my interest. Remember when he thought he could beat Eminem in a battle when he was dissing rappers left and right? LOL. Good riddance.

    4. why the fuck is jojo being published on a hiphop news site. shes taking tory off a song no one knew was coming out nor would listen to in the first place….seriously who in the fuck listens to jojo? anything for clicks smh

      1. Actually, a lot of hip hops heads listen to a ton of R&B, which is what jojo does. R&B and hip-hop have always shared a connection, since you know, R&B is part of hip hop, but let me guess, your tard ass thought only rap was hip hop.

    5. At the end of the day Jojo has a great voice. Now will Tory Lane dismissal in a song help her sell more no! She was in label limbo forever and Blackground Records(Aaliyah’s Uncle) screwed her over period. Megan in a song also doesn’t help. Jojo just know like your last major hit, it’s just a little to late

    6. She’s free to do whatever she wants. It’s her project. I’m just wondering how this is news worthy? Any level headed individual would recognize that it ain’t wise to pass judgement on a one sided story. Charlamagne’s a slave to his paycheck. After all, he and Megan are both linked to Roc Nation so there’s no way he’d be unbiased. He simply used this story to deflect attention to the fact that he should’ve called out Jay-Z for choosing Nas album release date to drop his new single which hypocritically speaks of black excellence whilst undermining a section of black community by gesture.
