DaBaby has reached the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time in his career, and apparently he’s feeling pretty good about it. After Billboard revealed his latest album KIRK hit No. 1 on the chart, the Interscope Records artist reflected on his accomplishment via Instagram on Monday (October 7).

“#1 ALBUM ON BILLBOARD,” he wrote. “When I got the news I took my time letting it sink in cause this one different. Google me and see what I done been through in the past 12 months. Then ask yourself how da fuck I’m STILL standing on all Ten. Blood, Sweat, & Tears for it. The world ain’t never seen a nigga like me win. GOD is GREAT WHATS NEXT? My last name #KIRK nigga.”

According to Nielsen Music, DaBaby’s KIRK sold 145,000 album equivalent units to become the top-selling album for the week ending October 3. Streaming played the biggest role in the LP’s success as the project only sold 8,000 copies in terms of pure album sales.

DaBaby’s previous career peak was No. 7, which he set earlier this year with his debut studio album Baby On Baby. The LP was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in June.
