Troy Ave is apparently upset after the NYPD shut down an event intended to celebrate both his latest album — More Money More Problems — and 33rd birthday. In an Instagram video posted on Sunday (November 25), the Brooklyn-bred rapper blasted the NYPD for preventing him from performing in his hometown.
“NYPD SHUT DOWN MY NEW YORK CITY HIGHLINE BALLROOM PERFORMANCE AGAIN,” he wrote in all caps. “IM SORRY YALL! ITA OUTTA MY CONTROL IM TRYNA EVERYTHING TO SHOW UP 4 YALL! AND THIS WHY I SAY THE STREETS IS A MYTH, I CANT CALL NOT 1 TRIPLE OG OF NOTHING IN THA HOOD TO USE THEY ‘JUICE’ or STREET CRED TO OVERRIDE THIS ISSUE!”
He also threatened to sue.
“ION KNOW WHAT TO DO!” he continued. “MAYBE ILL SUE NYC TAKE SOME OF THE [money] BUY A CLUB IN NEW JERSEY AND CHARTER BUS EVERYBODY IN FOR A FREE SHOW! SELF DEFENSE SHOULDN’T MAKE YOU A CRIMINIAL.”

In the video clip, Troy became increasingly agitated as he talked about the incident.
“Troy Ave is prohibited from coming to the spot,” he said. “We don’t want him performing there. He attracts a violent crowd … first of all, you see the news and how they put out something crazy. They make it look like I was shooting up the club. That’s not the issue. I got attacked in a club by a hater!”
He went on to say that “hater” cost him $3 million, three months in jail and now, he could potentially spend 40 years behind bars in connection to the infamous Irving Plaza shooting.
Troy was arrested in May 2016 at a New York City hospital after he reportedly opened fire and accidentally shot himself during the melee. Three people were injured and Troy’s bodyguard, Ronald “Banga” McPhatter, was killed.[apple_news_ad type=”any”]
