Matt “M-Eighty” Markoff has worked with Wu-Tang Clan for years. Most recently, the A&R extraordinaire has been helping craft a new Ghostface Killah album titled The Lost Tapes, which he executive produced.

Now, the Indiana native has shared the tracklist and release date for the album exclusively with HipHopDX. The stacked project features 13 tracks boasting guest spots from Snoop Dogg, E-40, KXNG Crooked, Planet Asia, Big Daddy Kane, Cappadonna, Raekwon and Sheek Louch, among others.

It’s produced by legendary underground producer Big Ghost, who many believe is actually Ghostface operating under an alias but Markoff insists he’s a real person.

“This new Ghostface and Big Ghost album is definitely something that is going to blow the minds of Wu-Tang and Hip Hop fans alike,” Markoff explained to HipHopDX. “Our collective goal in calling it The Lost Tapes was to bring fans back to that Ironman/Supreme Clientele/Cuban Linx era.

“We set out to revive that, update it for 2018 and just like that, we have a certified 2018 Wu-Tang banger on our hands.”

He adds, “This album is exactly what Hip Hop needs in 2018 and thankfully, it’s coming from one of the game’s greatest storytellers and a supporting cast of certified legends.”

To kick off the album’s rollout, the team has dropped the first single, “Saigon Velour,” featuring Snoop Dogg and E-40.

In addition to the 13 original tracks, the project also includes five bonus remixes of “Saigon Velour” and “I Think I Saw A Ghost.”

The Lost Tapes is expected to arrive on October 5 on all digital platforms via Cleopatra/X-Ray Records. It will also receive a limited edition physical format treatment courtesy of M-Eighty’s Holy Toledo Productions imprint and the UK’s Daupe! Media.

Pre-orders for the album are available here. The first 1,000 CDs include an autographed poster from Ghostface himself, a bonus EP and more.

    1. All lives matter. Just not to blacks apparently. Being black and from Chicago I see firsthand that we are the only ones killing ourselves daily, not whites. Also, whites aren’t the ones that enslaved us it was our own people that did that to us. African warlords sold us to the whites and Spanish. These are hard honest facts we all have to learn to live and deal with.

      1. You’re obsessed with us for some reason. Why would you come on the internet and pretend to be black? Get a life.

      1. I used to think that too, then I went out West and it all made sense. Now he’s one of my favorite MCs of all time. It’s not about his rhymes, it’s about the game he drops. E-40 drops knowledge that is understandable and applicable. Oh, and Ghost has not been the same since Superb stopped “helping” him in the studio.

    2. Ghostface is the most consistent artist in Hip Hop.

That said I don’t trust shit associated with M-80.

The only GF album I want is official ones crafted by the man himself.

      1. Exactly! And he is the only one from Wu Tang which never had dissapointed me. Second would be Methodman if not Meth Lab…

Always ready for some GFK joints!

      2. Ghost has been making the same album for the past ten years. That’s not consistency. It’s called stagnation.

    3. I know Ghost got plenty of solo joints that never made his albums…drop those, not all these unwanted features.

    4. I will never support anything M-Eighty touches. That man is the DJ Vlad of rap managers. That’s the dude Canibus is currently attached to.

      1. Nah Canibus broke ties with M-80 years back bc he knew M-80 a slimey fuck. M-80 was atleast good at keeping fans in the loop and promoting. Canibus is working with Pyrit Music now.

    5. “It’s produced by legendary underground producer Big Ghost, who many believe is actually Ghostface operating under an alias but Markoff insists he’s a real person.”

Who are the dumbfucks who think that ?

Big Ghost is just a fat mexican lookin muthafucka who make dope beats. Nothing related to Ghostface Killah.

    6. i want albums from Czarface and Ghostface and Doom and Ghostface and why ain’t Czarface or Doom on this woulda been a nice touch?

    7. Looked like buddy got a hold of 8 Ghost verses and is trying to stretch that ish over an entire album. It’s the equivalent of coke that’s been stepped on five times. I expect this to be garbage.

    8. Big Ghost Ltd. stays putting that work in. Griselda, Hus Kingpin, Crimeapple, Vic Spencer, Ankhlejohn, and now Ghost?!?! Dude’s on some shit right now.

    9. Been waiting for doomstarks
      Been waiting for supreme 2
      Waiting for new wu album
      Waiting for czarface meets ghostface.
Not sure about this compilation project tho. Ill prob support it tho even tho it sound meh

    10. Really hyped for this. Some new Ghostface is good any day if the week. And maaan, Bishop Lamont’s on her!! That dude is the most underrated emcee, and his album The Reformation is flames!

    11. To the dude who says E40 is “garbage” ,u don’t have a clue.Do itself a favor and play the original Mr.Flamboyant. No doubt ull have to rewind plenty of times to try to understand the Game dude unleashed…and that was in ’92-’93!

    12. Months ago Ghost tried to send out an unreleased track with an uncleared sample to his email list, but his lawyer removed it asap. That turned into this project, which is essentially a remix project.

      1. Ghost been putting out albums on a damn near yearly basis since 2000. He’s not trying to bring hip hop back. Hip hop been with him this whole time. Do your research.

    13. This album is surprisingly good for a collection of Ghost verses with features. Ghost isn’t at his peak but still entertaining, the production is actually solid and so are all the guests.

    14. As a GFk fan, I don’t feel this one. It’s not bad, but I have mixed feelings about this. Looking forward for SC2

    15. Yaaaas! I’m truly curious if any of these joints were leftovers from Wu meets indie. It just has the same energy, sound…which is fantastic. Plus some of the guests were on that project. Coincidentally, Ghost was absent from the album. Just thoughts….

    16. Damn, I remember the big ghost face blog. Dude went from impersonating him to producing an entire project for the god.
