Kevin Gates took to Instagram Sunday (May 13) to preview new music over a series of four consecutive posts, all captioned with the hashtag #imhim.”

The Bread Winners’ Association rapper didn’t share any track titles or release dates, but dropped some fresh bars across the posts, “I done changed lanes/ I ain’t miss a beat/ Praise to Allah/ Made it out the clink,“ he raps in the first clip. Then, “So focused I ain’t checkin’ the comments/ Want smoke? Go relocate your momma/ Been broke, had to come up from grindin/ Sold soap, had to come up no options,” he raps over a Yung Lan-produced beat.

The Louisiana native was released from prison in January, and had been relatively quiet since. After months of Instagram silence, he made his comeback last Monday (May 7), with some videos flexing his jewelry and showing a family meal.

His wife, Dreka Gates, posted a video to Kevin’s Instagram apologizing to fans on May 4, revealing that the Illinois Department Of Corrections has prevented her busband from leaving the state, saying he isn’t even allowed to come home to California where the two share a home. “We’re doing everything in our power to work this out,” Dreka said.
