Meek Mill has checked into prison to begin his controversial two to four-year sentence for violating his probation, according to TMZ. His mugshot was taken on Wednesday morning (November 8) and the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections say he’s currently being processed.
Common Pleas Judge Genece Brinkley handed down the stiff sentence on Monday (November 6), explaining she’d been attempting to “help” him for years.
“I’ve been trying to help you since 2009,” Brinkley said. “You basically thumbed your nose at me.”
Meek’s lawyer claims Brinkley has a personal vendetta against the Philly rapper possibly because Meek never did a remake of Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee” as she requested.

JAY-Z, who called the sentence “unjust and heavy handed,” showed his support for Meek at a Houston concert earlier this week, while a laundry list of fellow artists have vowed their support on social media as well.
