Ice Cube has just announced his participation in a new reality television show. Cube born O’shea Jackson, has created a new show with critically acclaimed film-maker R.J. Cutler.

The show is called Black. White and it has been causing a stir lately, due to its controversial theme. The show will allow a black family and a white family an opportunity to see how it feels to be on the other side of the racial fence.

“We’re doing something that has never been done before that advances in makeup technology allow,” said Cutler.

Through make-up, the families will undergo a transformation that will open their eyes to how other races are perceived. Make-up artists took about 3-5 hours per family member, just to get ready.

Still, there’s more than make-up and lights. The show will have a message behind everything.

“The loud message of the show is that we are a divided nation,” said the Emmy award-winning Cutler. “But we can come together if we’re willing to talk about our differences and work to see the world through the eyes of other people.”

In a statement, Ice Cube claimed that he hopes to stir up conversation about the topic.

“‘Black. White’ will force people to challenge themselves and really examine where we stand in terms of race in this country,” said Cube.
