During the Fortune Sound Club in Vancouver, Canada, Nardwuar caught up with Curren$y yet again. During the interview, Curren$y spoke on his father’s musical career and his admiration for Carole King. The interview was conducted as part of Pharrell Williams’ i am OTHERcampaign.

During the Q&A, Curren$y was asked about what label his father’s band was on.

“I don’t know what label he was on,” Curren$y said of his father’s band, Point of View. “It’s my dad. I never talked to him about that stuff. I didn’t know I was gonna be in the industry at the time that he told me about this…I genuinely don’t know.”

When given a Carole King album, Curren$y spoke on his admiration for her voice. He added that he doesn’t have much of her music but was pleased to receive more.

“I only know that one song,” he explained. “I only know ‘It’s Too Late.’ I always wondered what else she did because her voice is tight. I just find songs. I just found ‘Too Late’ and I listen to ‘It’s Too Late’ all the time.”
