In other news, Jay-Z held a press conference in Philadelphia today to announce that he will be performing at Budweiser’s “Made in America” concert. Yet what got many fans’ attention was Hov reportedly ushering former Roc-a-Fella emcee Freeway off the stage during a photo op with Mayor Michael Nutter.

According to a recent report Vibe however, Freeway’s stage crash was planned. Jay invited his former cohort to join him on stage, but that Freeway was asked by Mayor nutter and his associates to not appear in the photos due to his past drug charges.

Finally, Maker Music recently sat down for an exhaustive interview between west coast Hip Hop mainstays Murs and DJ Quik. During the interview, the pair reminisced on coming out during California’s heyday, and even recalled working in the studio together.

“Literally, [DJ Quik] cut the tape on my record,” Murs explained. “He can splice tape, he can mix – I remember the dude we were in [the studio] with…was trying to tell us, ‘You can’t do that’…this is an engineer just out of school, he thinks he knows everything about the room, and Quik went [and patched it himself]. I was like, ‘Whoa’ – but [he] wasn’t arrogant about it; [he] was like, ‘Alright, I told you and now I have to show you ‘cus you think that I’m a rapper that doesn’t know anything’…he knows all the out board gear.”
