You can always tell when a major album is about to drop, because random singles start circulating like mad. While Jay-Z and Kanye West kept their Watch the Throne project under a tight lid, artists like J.Cole, Drake, and even Yelawolf all had bunches and bunches of songs that circulated moments before the 11th Hour arrived. We’re seeing alot of this happen now, especially with Jeezy. However, while people are in a frenzy trying to figure out what will be their new favorite song on Thug Motivation 103, there is a lot more to choose from in the music world. Some of that is represented here, as both newjacks (like the Weeknd’s “Superhero” at #5) and veterans sit together on this list. If you want more music, though, we have a whole section for you to check out.

Jeezy Takes the Top and the Bottom, Slick Rick and Busta In Between

Huge pauses for that title, but there was no other way to describe the list this week. Jeezy reached #1 with his latest TM103 leak “OJ” with Fabolous and Jadakiss. He also closed the list at #10 with “Just Like That (This What I Do).” Now do you get the top and bottom reference? Well Jeezy also shows up somewhere in the middle too with “I Do” again, with Jay-Z and Andre3000. In a very surprising move, Slick Rick came in at #2 with “Need Some Bad.” MC Ricky D even got DJ Premier on the cut to prove that when he comes back around, The Ruler don’t play. Busta Rhymes snuck in at #3 with Twista on “Can You Keep Up,” a song where both rappers flip more syllables than an English teacher. Busta arrived again with Ace Hood and Yelawolf at #7 with “Shit Done Got Real.” It’s about to get alot realer once these albums all drop.

Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa Go To High School, Common Is a Believer

This Tuesday, December 13th, Snoop Dogg and Wiz Khalifa will join forces for the original soundtrack to their film Mac+Dev Go To High School (check the snippets). While both are way too old to be in school, the title is clearly a pun on the duo’s love of the bud. A song from the soundtrack leaked, appropriately titled “Smokin On.” That THC-infused song came in at #8 this week on our list, but right below it was a freestyle from Snoop and Wiz at #9. While the two were doing radio promo, they rocked over Meek Mill’s “House Party.” The freestyle is really just the two of them bigging each other up, but stoners everywhere are probably fine with just that. A week after Mac + Dev, Common arrives with The Dreamer, The Believer. The second half of the album title has a song named after it, featuring John Legend. That made #4. It’s great to see that after all the time, artists like Common, The Roots, and John Legend are still tight and making music together.
