Rhymefest has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes after checking himself into the emergency room at the risk of going into a diabetic coma. According to posts on his Twitter account from an unnamed source, the former mayoral candidate has had the disease for years and was unaware of it.
Fest entered the hospital on June 2nd, with his sugar levels reaching 739 mg/dL, while normal levels would be around 80 mg/dL. After his diagnosis, he is currently awaiting to be released from the ER. HipHopDX.com will keep you updated.

UPDATE: Rhymefest has been released from the hospital and updated his Twitter followers on his condition. The Chicago, Illinois rapper explains that he has a new “lease on life” and plans to revamp his lifestyle with exercise and a healthy diet.
