Wendy Williams appears to be in much better health than recent years, and in a new interview, revealed that she thinks Diddy will be sentenced to life in prison.
Calling in to her old friend and former staff member Charlamagne Tha God on The Breakfast Club Thursday (January 16), Wendy shared an update on her life while also doing what she does best – commentating on pop culture.
When Charlamagne noted that Diddy is the reason Wendy was fired from New York radio station Hot 97 decades ago, he then asked her thoughts on the embattled mogul’s mounting legal troubles – and she didn’t hold back.
“When I watch TMZ and I see the stuff that goes on, I’m like, ‘Oh my God,’” she said. “Diddy will go to prison for life, people. You don’t know things that I knew about Diddy back in the day and you wanna know what? It’s about time, people. It is about time. Diddy done.”

Speaking on comedian Andrew Schulz’s Flagrant podcast last May, Charlamagne Tha God addressed the tumultuous history between his mentor Wendy Williams and Diddy, which goes back several decades.
“Wendy’s whole thing was Diddy was gay,” Charlamagne said. “That’s why Wendy got fired from Hot 97. Wendy got fired from Hot 97 by Diddy ’cause that’s when Bad Boy was smoking hot. She got fired for putting that out there.”

Williams was fired from Hot 97 in 1998 after suggesting that the media mogul was homosexual. She allegedly had a photo of Diddy in an intimate situation with another man.
Gene Deal, Diddy’s former bodyguard, also spoke about Williams’ firing in a 2022 interview with The Art of Dialogue
“The power [Diddy] had with the radio stations in New York, muthafuckas didn’t breathe hard if [Diddy] didn’t want them to,” he said. “[Diddy] got one of the hottest DJs off Hot 97 because she wanted to put up a picture of him getting his pants pulled down.
“[Diddy] told Hot 97 if they didn’t get rid of her before he got back in New York, that they was not going to get any music from any of his friends, any of the record labels executives that was cool with him. Everyone was going to boycott their station.”

As for her health, Wendy Williams was diagnosed with dementia and aphasia in February 2024. The New Jersey native had been struggling with deteriorating mental health, poor memory, the inability to communicate and alcoholism, forcing her to cancel her long-running talk show and enter into a guardianship.
She also checked into a facility to help her negotiate those troubles, and it now appears she has been making great strides since.
