Slipknot’s new album We Are Not Your Kind prevented any Hip Hop from hitting No. 1 on this week’s Billboard 200, but Rick Ross and Trippie Redd rounded out the Top 3 with strong debuts.
Elsewhere, Drake’s Care Package compilation dropped to No. 8 after entering the chart at the top spot last week. Lil Durk also saw his Love Songs 4 The Streets 2 tumble from No. 4 to No. 18.
Beyond Ross and Redd, other notable Hip Hop debuts for the week included Lil Tjay (No. 38), Ugly God (No. 46) and Blueface (No. 48).
Rozay Sets Sails
Rick Ross wasn’t able to secure the sixth No. 1 album of his career with Port Of Miami 2. The Maybach Music Group boss had to settle for No. 2 after selling 79,587 total album equivalent units compared to Slipknot’s 117,655 units for the week.
Although Rozay couldn’t match his previous peak, Port Of Miami 2 is his seventh Top 5 LP. He also had the week’s second-best pure album sales, moving 24,684 copies.
An Exclamation Point For Trippie Redd
Trippie Redd’s latest album ! helped him match his career-high mark on the Billboard 200 by debuting at No. 3. The Caroline Records artist previously peaked at No. 3 with last year’s A Love Letter To You 3 mixtape.
Redd scored another Top 3 release by selling 50,508 total album equivalent units. Only 6,652 of those copies came from pure album sales.
The Blueface Blues
Blueface’s hit single “Thotiana” cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year, but he wasn’t able to replicate that success with his first studio project for Cash Money Records. The West Coast rapper’s Dirt Bag EP entered the chart at No. 48.
Without a hit like “Thotiana” featured on the release, the EP only moved 12,314 total album equivalent units. Blueface didn’t get much support from pure album sales either, selling just 370 copies.

Correction his album is not Number 1. It’s number 2 and this def wouldn’t be his 10th number 1 even if it was.

Port of Miami 2 sold 300k actually. It should have been in the no.1 spot.
So there are mixed messages. Some websites state Ross at number 1, but you and a few others say 2. Which is it? And groan…I SHOULD NOT be giving a damn about numbers. I’m just curious:)
He had the number 1 hip hop album but it was the number 2 album overall behind Slipknot
