This week’s album sales are dominated by Green Day, who released Revolution Radio almost 22 years after taking the nation by storm with its Dookie LP. The project debuts at the top of Billboard’s Top 200 albums chart with nearly 95,000 equivalent album units. It is followed by first week sales for Norah Jones and OneRepublic. Their projects, Day Breaks and Oh My My land at #2 and #3 respectively before Hip Hop appears on the chart with Drake at #4.
Drake’s VIEWS Ties Lowest Chart Position Yet
Drake finds himself at the #4 position this week with VIEWS. Over the project’s 24 weeks on the chart, this is only the second time it has fallen out of the Top 3. The last time was the week ending September 1 when VIEWS also charted at #4. In this sales cycle, the LP saw 42,861 total units of movement and was streamed nearly 48 million times.
Solange Remains In Top 10
Solange’s A Seat at the Table remains a fan favorite as it lands at #6 to remain in the Top 10 after it debuted at the top of the charts last week. Now, it carried 34,116 equivalent album units, a 53 percent drop from its first cycle.
Travis Scott Slips Out of Top 10
In a quiet week for Hip Hop album sales, Travis Scott’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight slips out of the Top 10 to the #12 slot with nearly 22,000 units sold, a seven percent drop from last week. This is the LP’s sixth week on the chart and it might have gotten some renewed interest after an unauthorized project leaked this week.
