Akademiks Puts Drake’s Ye Shots On Blast: ‘Why You Violating Kanye West Like This?’

Drake and Kanye West‘s feud has reached fever pitch. After reigniting their rivalry with a series of verbal jabs and social media taunts last month, Drake seemingly unloaded a fresh round of lyrical shots aimed at Kanye’s head on his new album Certified Lover Boy, which landed on Friday (September 3).

Just over halfway through the album, Drizzy appears to clap back at Kanye for exposing his home address on “7am On Bridle Path.” The song’s title is a reference to Drake’s Toronto address and is the latest in his long-running series of a.m./p.m. songs.

“Get that address to your driver, make it your destination/’Stead of just a post out of desperation,” he raps.

Elsewhere on the scorching song, Drake seemingly disses Kanye’s Yeezy fashion line before threatening violence against Mr. West if, like fellow G.O.O.D. Music rapper Pusha T, he talks about his three-year-old son Adonis.

“I could give a fuck about who designing your sneakers and tees/Have somebody put you on a Gildan, you play with my seed,” he spits.

Though he doesn’t name names, Drake also has a special mention for someone “over there in denial, we not neck and neck” and mocks “heroes fallin’ from grace in their older ages.”

“7am On Bridle Path” already has the internet goin’ nuts, with DJ Akademiks sharing Drake’s scathing lyrics on Instagram while asking, “Aye #drake why u violating #kanyewest like this?”

“7am On Bridle Path” arrives amidst a tense few weeks between Drake and Kanye West. On August 21, Drizzy called out Kanye on Trippie Redd’s “Betrayal” by rapping, “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone.”

In response, Ye declared war on Drake by sharing an ominous text thread featuring fellow OVO nemesis Pusha T. “I live for this,” he wrote in the group chat next to photo of Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker character. “I’ve been fucked with by nerd ass jock n-ggas like you my whole life. You will never recover. I promise you.”

Kanye later posted a screenshot of Drake’s home address on Instagram, a move the OVO rapper laughed off.

The feud has also seen calculated pettiness such as Drake showing Instagram love to Soulja Boy — who currently has a bone to pick with Ye — and Kanye flooding Drake’s hometown of Toronto with Donda billboards.

Earlier this week, Kanye West’s manager, Abou “Bu” Thiam, suggested the Kanye vs. Drake beef could be squashed depending on Certified Lover Boy‘s lyrics. Needless to say, it doesn’t look like Bu will be burying that hatchet anytime soon.

          1. Kanye is corny as hell and lucky to have Push. With that being said. I cant wait to hear Push go after Drake again on his album.

    1. “Scathing lyrics?” Hahahahaha. That weak ass shit? You know Push is about to kill him. Again. Hahahahahaha. This cornball.

    2. Let’s do some basic math here. Drake supposedly has sold (streamed) more songs than the Beatles, Madonna, U2 etc. he is worth 150M and has 4 Grammys. Ye is worth 2 Bil and has over 20 Grammys. I think this isn’t even a competition. I’ve never seen anyone wearing that corn ass owl bullshit. I’ve also never felt a need to go to lame ass Toronto. We have NY and LA. Places with REAL hip-hop and culture. Fuck cosplay ass Drake. Appropriating our slang and culture. Soft ass bullshit.

    3. Donda was a good album, but CLB was better. Lucky for Ye he had someone who can actually rap bars to fight his battles for him in pusha t. Drake need to go sign Royce to OVO so he can have a lyrical hit man to send at push ??? just to even things up a bit.

    4. Drake is just struggling man. His career was built on Kanye’s whole style and will never musically be on the same level. If Drake wasn’t so lame I could understand but dude has no style, no classic hits and just overall into uncool shit. Why is he even trying to compete? Kanye may be weird but the quality of his art and artistic output is way better than Drake has ever or will ever make.
