It’s that time again. The Super Bowl is upon us and the two teams playing in Glendale, Arizona this year are the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots. Now putting the teams aside, let’s focus on what really matters: the music! Recently HipHopDX caught up with the official Seahawks deejay, DV One, who gave us a quick round up of the most frequent tracks he played this past season to pump the players up before game time. Of course DV One gives all the credit to the team, but there is no denying music is always pivotal when setting the tone for any event. The Hawks, including Head Coach, Pete Carroll, have apparently had a hype blend of cuts to get them going thanks to their man on the ones and twos.
Toby Campbell (DV One) has been making a name for himself for quite some time. He is a member of the Rock Steady Crew and has worked with the likes of Dr. Dre, De La Soul, Dilated Peoples, Kanye West, Jurassic 5, Supernatural and the list goes on. In the early nineties he actually started as an emcee, but because he lost his deejay, he learned how to spin. Now fast forwarding to 2004, there is a running joke that he called the Seahawks staff and pretended to be Suge Knight and stated that they better hire DV One or else. However, the true story of how he landed the gig is that he was overheard by the director of fan relations while he was working a RedBull event at Century Link Field.
Check the list below and see what songs would get you ready to hit the field and win. Michael Jackson is missing from this list by the way, but believe you me, MJ is always in rotation.
