Omega Sapien of South Korean alternative hip hop group Balming Tiger is celebrating his birthday with the release of Garlic and the Mugwort: The Genesis, a remix album of his 2020 solo debut, Garlic.

The 9-track album includes remixes from producers around the globe, including New York-based production team/band Machine Girl; felicita, previously of London-based label PC Music; Golin, Zutzut, DJ Paypal, and foodman, as well as fellow Korean artists simo and Jibin of Y2K92, JNKYRD, and Salamanda. The remixes range from hyperpop reinterpretations to glitch to PC.

Garlic and the Mugwort: The Genesis will be followed up by Omega Sapien’s upcoming sophomore EP produced by Baauer, set to arrive next month. The two have previously linked up for Baauer’s “DDOKBOKKI” single last year. In a Facebook post from Baauer, he wrote that “DDOKBOKKI” is just the first of a “bunch of music” he made with Omega Sapien.
