When Eminem dropped Kamikaze on Thursday night (August 30), everyone’s jaws dropped. From the first syllable he utters, it’s clear Shady came with guns blazing.
Album opener “The Ringer” essentially blasts all those who had anything negative to say about Shady or Revival, while several rappers caught his wrath as well.
From Machine Gun Kelly and Lil Pump to Joe Budden and Tyler The Creator, no one was off limits. For good measure, he called the 2018 BET Cypher “weak,” told Charlamagne Tha God to essentially kiss his ass, obliterated Trump (of course) and ridiculed the Grammy Awards.
Oh — and in case anyone forgot what makes Eminem a rap god, he lays it all out on “Fall” with, “I belong here, clown/Don’t tell me ’bout the culture/I inspired the Hopsins, the Logics, the Coles, the Seans, the K. Dots, the 5’9s and oh, brought the world 50 Cent.”
So, without further adieu, here are all the rappers Eminem calls out on the 13-track project.
Tyler The Creator & Earl Sweatshirt — “Fall”
Perhaps Em is still salty about the Odd Future mastermind slamming the Detroit rap god’s Shady XV album in 2014.
“Tyler create nothing, I see why you called yourself a faggot, bitch/It’s not just ’cause you lack attention/It’s ’cause you jockin’ D12’s balls, you’re sacrilegious/If you’re gonna critique me, you better at least be as good or better/Get Earl the hooded sweater, whatever his name is to help you put together some words, more than two letters.”
Machine Gun Kelly — “Not Alike” f. Royce Da 5’9
In 2012, Machine Gun Kelly sent out a tweet saying he thought Em’s daughter Hailie was attractive and Daddy clearly didn’t like it.
“Next time you don’t gotta use Tech N9ne if you want to come at me with a sub, Machine Gun/I’m talking to you, but you already know who you are, Kelly/I don’t use sublims and sure as fuck don’t sneak-diss/But keep commenting on my daughter Hailie.”
Drake & Chance The Rapper — “Fall”
Although he says he doesn’t do subliminals or sneak-disses, it sounds like Em could be taking shots at Drake and Chance The Rapper on “Fall.”
“Put me on a track, I go cray on it like a color book/You got some views, but you’re still below me/Mine are higher so when you compare our views you get overlooked/And I don’t say a hook unless I wrote the hook.”
Joe Budden & DJ Akademiks — “Fall”
That’s right, Joe Budden’s new podcast State Of The Culture is about to be lit. Shady calls out Budden and his former Everyday Struggle co-host Akademiks for calling Revival “trash.”
“Somebody tell Budden before I snap, he better fasten it/Or have his body baggage zipped/The closest thing he’s had to hits is smackin’ bitches/And don’t make me have to give it back to Akademiks/Say this shit is trash again, I’ll have you twisted/Like you had it when you thought you had me slippin’ at the telly.”
Lil Pump & Lil Xan — “The Ringer”
“The Ringer” finds Em spitting nothing but venom. From start to finish, he annihilates artists like Lil Xan and Lil Pump for their homogenous rap and accuses them of biting Lil Wayne.
“Lil Pump, Lil Xan imitate Lil Wayne/I should aim at everybody in the game, pick a name/I’m fed up with being humble/And rumor is I’m hungry/I’m sure you heard mumblings/I heard you wanna rumble like an empty stomach/I heard your mumbling but it’s jumbled in mumbo-jumbo.”
Lil Yachty – “The Ringer”
Em says he’s not dissin’ but he’s dissin’.
“Get this fuckin’ audio out my audio, adios/I can see why people like Lil Yachty, but not me though/Not even dissin’, it just ain’t for me/All I am simply is just an MC/Maybe ‘Stan’ just isn’t your cup of tea/Maybe your cup’s full of syrup and lean.”
D12 — “Stepping Stones”
This one’s a little different but still worthy of a mention. “Stepping Stones” finds Em expressing regret over the dissolution of his former group D12 and making amends to Bizarre and the rest of the clan. But toward the end of the track, he firmly states, “D12 is over.”
“Still, my point is I just can’t say how sorry I am/This is not how I planned for our story to end/I love all of you, man/But I just can’t be the guy/Everybody depends on for entire careers/’Cause that’s not even fair/I will always be here/But that spark isn’t there.”
Migos — “Not Alike”
This is obviously up for debate but the aforementioned “Not Alike” featuring Royce Da 5’9 might as well be considered a nearly five-minute diss track mocking Migos.
It adopts the Atlanta trio’s same style, complete with “skirt skirt” thrown around in the background. Coupled with the title, it’s not that big of a stretch to conclude it’s aimed at Offset, Takeoff and Quavo.
Lord Jamar — “Fall”
The Brand Nubian MC also caught a stray bullet from Em. Lord Jamar lamented Em’s 2013 win at the MTV EMAs and said Em was no different than Macklemore in a 2014 interview with DJ Vlad.
“And far as Lord Jamar, you better leave me the hell alone/Or I’ll show you an Elvis clone, walk up in this house you own/Thrust my pelvic bone, use your telephone, then go fetch me the remote.”
Mumble Rappers — “Lucky You”
This is pretty self-explanatory. Em doesn’t hold back on his feelings toward mumble rap. He’s already dissected the topic on “Caterpillar” featuring Nickel Nine.
“Hatata batata, why don’t we make a bunch of fuckin’/Songs about nothin’ and mumble!/And fuck it, I’m goin’ for the jugular/Shit is a circus, you clowns that are comin’ up/Don’t give an ounce of a motherfuck/About the ones that were here before you to make raps, it’s recap”
All Rappers — “Fall”
While he was at it, Em decided to take a jab at an entire generation of young rappers as well.
“These rappers are like Hunger Games/One minute, they’re mocking Jay/Next minute, they get they style from Migos, then they copy Drake/Maybe I just don’t know when to turn around and walk away/But all the hate I call it ‘Walk on Water’ gate/I’ve had as much as I can tolerate
“I’m sick and tired of waitin’, I done lost my patience/I could take all of you motherfuckers on at once/You wanted Shady? You got it!” [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
Joe Budden would body bag Em, that shit was lyrically weak as fuck. Dissing him on his birthday too, pathetic as fuck.
Your times done Em, last album flopped so now it’s back to dissing everybody to get some attention fuck outta here.
Is that you, Joe?
Why yal arguing about it?? just let it unfold
Looking forward to hearing what Budden says.
Hahahahaha!!!! Your funny…Joe B is awful and is no where near EM status. Get the F-outa here troll!
Dude actually argues with points, you respond with “Troll” Comment. So who is here really the Troll??
You clearly don’t know Joe, go watch his podcasts on YouTube titled “is Joe unloyal” where he clearly says he is not friends with Em about 17 times ????
The album is just good, nothing special. The beats where bad actually.
TRASH
TROLL
Still TRASH
Like your mom?
Yeah, this album was pretty weak. Boring b tracks from em. Sleepy beats. The only way for him to get it back is if he stops with the SJW emo shit (revival) and stops with the corny dissing. He needs to link up with real producers, get some real beats, and actually rap. Not about Trump and shit rappers. This seems like an attention grab.
And “actually rap.” Do you even know what you’re listening to? Replay The Ringer and tell me he’s not rapping.
Yeah I’m sure you have it alll figured out. I swear you nobody’s are so confident in what successful people should be doing.
As for the critics, tell me I don’t get it. Everybody can tell you how to do it, they never did it
Dunno “These rappers are like Hunger Games/One minute, they’re mocking Jay/Next minute, they get they style from Migos, then they copy Drake” seems like he paying respect to Drake to me lol
In the old days if you copied someone’s style, you were made fun of and bounced from the game.
Em’s wordplay is ridiculous. With that said, Jay said it best – “y’all put words together, just to match”. Dope bars nonetheless
Rest In Peace Eminem he’s doing too much
So the whole rap world sees your PC album as a fucking joke so you just go back to what yoy always did? That dont spell sell out at all
Suck a dick my man, you earn it.
Aww hows your moms basement and watching family guy and american dad? You dumb fuckin generic millenial bitch boy
How are you morons still hating Em?!? Fucking idiots everywhere
Cut the bullshit, this album was dope. Get out ya feelings, dont be upset your favorite rapper got dissed, tell them to step it up.
Holy ^%*# No doubt the depth of these bars are going over people’s heads.
Lord Jamar does not want any smoke with Eminem he was by far the wackest in Brand Nubian
Can’t even hate this this is the Em I’ve waited a decade for and he straight body bagged that bitch ass Jamar so more props.
Nas album is better
It was cool. I liked Adam and Eve. The rest was a little underwhelming. I’m hoping his next release will be a step up.
It was underwhelming but better than Eminems. Actually, all of those albums Kanye produced are better than this. Maybe Kanye should produce an Eminem album. lol
Won’t happen since Kanye loves trump
nah Ye albums were weak too
Enjoy your crack
You forgot die antwoord. The dj muggs reference, shit was savage.
Which song? Thx
Greatest, second verse.
Em let them suckers have it they fu%king wit one of the best to ever do it
Get em shady….
since nobody gave a fuck about his last álbum now he is desperate trying to catch some attention with this shitty disses
em trying to be relevant again. dissing people isnt going to help him sell records no more. sure it’ll have people talking but not too long. i agree he’s desperate and seeking attention.
People saying em trying to be relevant again by releasing this album?… Sounds more like he’s mocking everyone. This album is funny af cause he’s just destroying everyone!
Claiming he’s dissing Drake, Chance the Rapper and Migos is a big stretch. He ain’t doing subs, he’s calling by name.
I agree that they are reaching with that Chance claim. The views line however…
Nobody fuckin cares. This guy’s last decent album was released in 2002.
More like talking out the ass sayer. Hip hop heads know this album is dope. One of the illest albums he’s dropped. Dude is 45 and can slay anyone. This has bars and beats for days. Go get a qtip and clean out your eardrums.
why does the cover look like one of the beastie boys albums? not sure which – anyone know?
Its either sabotage or ill communication. He paid homage to beastie with that cover.
Kids….. It’s “Licensed to Ill”
You named a song that came out a decade later and the album that song came out on. Carry on…
thank you google.
Em only has five good albums (Infinite, SSLP, MMLP, MMLP2). This is one of them. So happy when this guy makes good hip hop. Good to hear him back again, hope he can stay back.
Really? I thought The Eminem Show was his best album. It has much more replay value than MMLP, but both is classic to me. But i have to be in a certain mood to listen to MMLP. But everything after Encore is complete garbage to me, MMLP2 was alright, but not THAT good.
The death of Em, lets just bury him already. weak, weak weak! The first track is better than the entire album! “when twister already made an album called kamikaze”
Ok em!!!!! I see u turn the volume up on these clowns??? Good album solid body of work. The revival album was good too.. I still roll up and bump it
I’ve listened to Revival a few times. Just not my cup of tea. Now I can’t even remember the song titles, which is a very bad sing. Already remember the whole Kamikaze track list, because I actually really like the album.
maybe your cup is filled with syrup and lean.
Why he’s going in on Charlamagne and Joe Budden for giving their honest opinion of the Revival album? That shit was fucking garbage and he knows it. It was a weak, bland album that relied solely on features from huge mainstream pop artists to help it appeal to a generation of new kids who barely knew who Eminem was. He clearly took notice of the massive backlash this album received from his fans as well as critics. So severe and so overwhelming was the backlash that Eminem decided that he needed to make another album to attack everyone that didn’t like his previous one. Everyone wasn’t wrong. There was no malice or hate in what Budden said about it, Budden was being real, and at the time he was reluctant to say anything negative about Em’s work but it got to a point where so many people wanted to know what he really thought that he had to tell them. But Em just wants fucking yes men that tell him every piece of piss poor garbage he puts out is fantastic
It’s not about this, budden called the album trash while just looking at the track list and before the album came out! Second is why don’t they call any of the garbage coming out all those years wack? I agree that Revival was wack only to Em’s standards but not compared to the shit out now and that’s what pissed Em off… anyways I should thank them for that as we wouldn’t have gotten this dope album without their likes…
Well said Rap! Revival was trash ONLY to Eminem standards therefore those 2 should’ve criticized all the 99% garbage in the rap game lately so they would have credibility when they criticize Revival!
Agree with you both, just that believe and castle tracks puts most rap albums coming out lately straight into the closest trash can! LOL!
Lets face reality an end all the bullshit talk. With the exception of two or three rappers in rap history, no one’s fuckin with Em lyrically. Period.
So 3 days past and nobody is responding to Em? What is this kind of wack thing going on?
Good question man but let me answer your ? With a ? What would happen if an Ant decides to battle Hulk?!
no rapper wants to battle Em. But i think joe budden will respond.
mgk of all people responded first. i was kinda hoping for tyler. oh well.
Cage destroyed him back in the day. (and Eminem bit his style)
Who? That’s what I thought.
Eminem put mumble rap in a body bag. Damn!
Lyrically Em is the best ever, especially on the technical bars side. Maybe not poetically or message wise..
That is true. I have that this for years. He lacks real content Motive but technically he is very proffecient
Em is the best lyrical rapper. Andre 3000 is the G.O.A.T. lets not forget.
How can the greatest of all time be a person without a proper solo album?
MGK replied to his diss. It’s on YouTube. ‘Rap Devil’ is the title. He even mentioned Hailey again… It’s on now. Can’t wait to hear Em’s reply if he replies. Hiphop needs this to happen.
MGK is 100% Wack.
interesting… Budden has beef with his new Griselda artists like Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine. I want to see them go in on Budden
When you’re so irrelevant you have to call out small time rappers.. what a tool
He so relevant you have to put them in your name… Who’s the tool lol
He so relevant you have to put him in your name… Who’s the tool lol
Em Is The Best Don’t Compare Elephant With Dog
