Young Thug has made his first public request to an artist he would like to collaborate with now that his legal ordeal is behind him, and the choice is an interesting one to say the least.
On Sunday morning (November 3), Thugga took to X (formerly Twitter) with only his second tweet since his release from the Fulton County Jail in Atlanta on Thursday night (October 31).

And while the YSL boss and his attorney made it a point to request permission to work with Gunna despite being prohibited to communicate with his former co-defendants while on probation; Thug’s request could be perceived as a shot at his one-time protege.
“Wham let’s drop one on these rats peter,” he wrote, referring to Lil Baby by his nickname.

He stopped short, however, of tagging Baby directly in the post.
As of this writing, the note had garnered over 3 million views, 88 thousand likes and 15 thousand retweets.

In the months since Gunna accepted a plea deal in the YSL RICO case, Lil Baby has been very vocal about his disdain for his former collaborator; something Young Thug has seemingly cosigned in the past.
Gunna was released from jail last December after entering a Alford plea in the YSL RICO case, which means he maintains his innocence but recognizes that it’s in his best interest to plead guilty.

The rapper has faced widespread backlash for his decision, with many accusing him of snitching on Young Thug, who is currently on trial and faces over half a dozen charges.
Shortly after his release, Lil Baby appeared to diss Gunna during a stop on his It’s Only Us Tour. When their hit “Drip Too Hard” began playing through the venue’s speakers, Baby could be heard in a video saying: “Fuck the rats, turn this shit off.”

The 4PF honcho previously took a subliminal shot at his former collaborator in a song snippet that surfaced in June, rapping: “Pussy n-ggas taking pleas/ I know Slime ain’t happy.”
Young Thug’s father, Jeffrey Williams Sr., spoke out in defense of his son’s YSL signee at the time. But about six months later, Young Thug has seemingly pledged his allegiance to Lil Baby over Gunna in a cryptic tweet.

Thugger made a rare social media post from jail on June 26 and appeared to draw a line in the sand, with a tweet that simply read, “whateva wham say goes.”
Despite the harsh darts from Lil Baby, Gunna has been adamant that Young Thug harbors no ill will towards him.
During an interview with XXL in April, the “Fukumean” rapper opened up about his current relationship with his label boss, saying: “It’s the same. It’s love, always. Our relationship is our relationship.”
Gunna was also asked about the accusations that he snitched on Thug to secure his release from jail and how the likes of Lil Durk, 21 Savage and Lil Baby have labeled him a rat.

“None of those rappers, they’re not on the case. They don’t know legally what’s going on,” he replied.
