Rap Release Dates: J. Cole, Mobb Deep, Evidence, Drake

    J. Cole has been one of the most talked about artists on HipHopDX as of recently. Over the past few weeks, his Cole World: The Sideline Story leaks have dominated our weekly singles reports, especially with collaborations with Missy Elliott on “Nobody’s Perfect” and Jay-Z on “Mr. Nice Watch.” All of that talk has been leading up to one day, and that day has arrived as The Sideline Story has finally dropped (check out our review). However, J. Cole isn’t the only one releasing monumental albums this week.

9th Wonder rises to the occasion with The Wonder Years. At the end of last week, the single “Enjoy” featuring Warren G, Murs, and Kendrick Lamar dropped furthering the evidence that 9th has some smart collabs (see Raekwon on “No Pretending” ). Speaking of Evidence, the Weatherman of Dilated Peoples drops Cats & Dogs today. Ev has been consistently impressing the masses with this new release, the most recent being “The Red Carpet” with Ras Kass and once again, Raekwon. Sadly though, an important album, rather EP, is missing this week. Pusha T was slated to drop Fear Of God 2: Let Us Pray. However, that project was not-so-surprisingly met with a delay.

In other pushback news, Drake’s Take Care was showing an October 24th release per Amazon, and then Drake dropped his candelit cover art last weekend. The album was originally supposed to drop on October 4th, and despite a whole flood of leaks – the most recent being “Free Spirit” with Rick Ross – the album will drop just one week shy of Halloween, on a Monday no less (big dogs get the Monday slot, don’t you know?)

Almost exactly one month of Drake’s release, Mobb Deep is scheduled for a comeback album. The Black Cocaine EP will drop on Black Friday (November 25th) and brings P and Havoc together once again. Queens rap fans can rejoice.

    1. Having bought both the Phonte and J-Live albums this morning I can say hip-hop heads won’t be disappointed today. Neither may have the buzz of Cole World (nobody does today), they’re both really good – at least 4/5.

    2. i hate getting away from the subtance of this article ( release dates ) but i have to comment on that mobb deep picture..

what the fuck is Hav doing? lettign one rip? dog humping P? what an odd shot.

      1. That pic is included in the album art for Murda Muzik.

I think they’re in an elevator and Hav’s back is against a wall.

    3. Yea… Drake’s album was always scheduled to drop on his birthday, October 24th. He stated it in numerous interviews, the same interviews posted on your site lol… your release date has been wrong for months.

    5. Hahahahaha Weezy take seven backpack albums and puts them in a line. Release them on the same date and it’ll solve a problem of mine. A whole bunch of Wood ready for burning all at one time.

Weezy the GOAT. Anyone who says otherwise is just a bitchass hater.

      1. I think you took seven bags of coke and put them in a line. Snorted ’em until you lost your rabbit ass mind. Woke up in a crackhouse and said ‘That boy Wayne can rhyme!”.

    6. J cole gonna brick and then everyone online is gonna blame it on Jay instead of admitting that the kid has no personality and just isnt a very intresting artist

      1. go to the jcole website they have the free full album stream that you can listen to before you buy the album. 7.8/10 too many songs from his mixtape on the album

      2. This guy gets it. Ya’ll love to suck Cole dick but when it comes time to buy the album ya’lls support disappears faster than ya self-confidence when a woman walks in the room. Us Tunechi fans is real men. We support the God MC so that he may continue to bless us with his presence. Meanwhile you guys keep worshiping that Golden Cole and sacrificing your dignity on the internet.

Just kidding. Nothing J Cole does will ever go gold.

Numbers don’t lie fuckfaces. C4 the best of the year.

    7. how is it possible that LAST WEEK you had
Cormega on the list for release dates for today, and RAW FOREVER was released TODAY!!!!!!! and you guys didnt post nothing.

what kind of hip hop site is this? honestly?

      1. Styles P is whack as fuck and can’t make a decent track, let alone a whole album. This fuck needs over 10 features to hold it down. Mobb Deep in 2011? LMAO. Prodigy didn’t spit a hot verse since H.N.I.C. Both of them fell the fuck off.

    8. So yall have another release date for that clown Jeezy. Its not droppin, period. This nigga is done. this is Detox Jr.,boy this puhing back albums is really Chicken Talk
