Pusha T Announces “King Push” Release Date

Pusha T announced last month that he will release Darkest Before Dawn before his long-awaited King Push album. The first project is due out December 18 and in an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio, the G.O.O.D. Music president announces that the King Push album release date will be in April.

Pusha T also details what to expect from Darkest Before Dawn in the meantime. A song called “M.P.A,” which stands for “Money, Pussy, Alcohol,” is produced by Kanye West and J. Cole. Kanye West and A$AP Rocky assist Pusha T on the vocals.

“J. Cole flipped the part of this beat, it got so dark,” the Virginia Beach, Virginia rapper says. “It’s a recurring sample, then when it gets to that part, Cole just goes stupid.”

Pusha T says he is working with Q-Tip and others to help bring the Rap game full circle.

“There are things on King Push that have not been heard in 18 years,” he says. “Real, serious artistic presence, the newness of certain artists that just haven’t been here in about 18 joints.”

Pusha T is currently preparing a spring 2015 release date for his King Push  album according to a new Rolling Stone interview. The album, Pusha’s first release since his long-in-the making solo debut My Name Is My Name, is set to include more music like the recently released and Kanye West produced “Lunch Money” according to the rapper.

“I dropped ‘Lunch Money’ to show how far out me and ‘Ye are going to go, just sonically,” he told Rolling Stone. “Now, I feel like people don’t know where the hell I’m going to go on the next record. And that’s where I want them to be. ‘Unorthodox’ has become synonymous with Pusha T’s music, back to records like ‘Grindin.’ Everybody’s gonna be really locked in and shocked to see how I’ve raised the level of musicality from My Name Is My Name to King Push.”

The younger Thornton brother also said he’s been working continuously on putting the record together.

“Aw, man, I’m working on it feverishly,” he said. “It’s amazing. I feel like the sound will be second to none. And of course you already know the raps will be smacking people all left and right. I’ve been working on it constantly.”

    1. Hopefully its atleast better than his last album…ditch the Futures, 2 Chainz bullshit and singing on every other track, and we’ll be a solid banger

    2. I need some hip hop shit from Pusha T. That futuristic, sonically enhanced production (or whatever it is he is promiting) isn’t a good look for his rap style. Just being honest.
