After previewing a range of tracks off the tape, Offset then asked the reporter: “You wanna hear my last song with TakeOff?”
According to the piece, Set appeared joyful as he listened to the last track the pair recorded together prior to TakeOff’s murder in Houston last year, and said this new album will be a full-fledged attempt to branch away from his Migos shadow.

“This is me going full-fledged into my solo career,” he said. “The objective is to do it fully and smash shit and fuck the game up as a solo artist. I’m coming through, bustin’ through the door. It’s all set, my next chapter. It’s my time.”
While he couldn’t confirm a release date, Offset said that his album is slated for release via Universal’s Capitol Music Group this summer with a tour on the horizon.
The update comes after Offset and Travis Scott debuted a new song together live at Rolling Loud Thailand back in April, with the audience seen on video going crazy to the new track. Offset also previewed his Future collab on Instagram Live last November.
Offset has been hard at work on his solo effort, and initially had it slated to drop last year, but pushed it back out of respect for TakeOff. Prior to the latter’s death, Offset had also delayed the release once before for unspecified reasons.
Regardless, the still-untitled LP will serve as the follow-up to his debut album Father of 4 from 2019, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
During a separate interview with SSENSE last August, Offset went into detail about what the new LP will sound like, which he had previously confirmed on Twitter will boast 13 tracks.

“This is just the beginning,” he explained. “It’s just gutter and core, from the heart. I got a lot of different flows on it. I’m rapping, even though I see a lot of the artists nowadays, they like auto tuning. A lot. I feel like I’m not on that wave at all. When I came in, we came out the trenches, so that’s what people want to hear, because that’s what people go through every day. Ain’t nobody driving a Wraith.”
